In one of the best episodes of the season thus far, viewers learned more about Arnheid (Mayumi Sako) and how she ended up where she is. Although no one’s backstory in Vinland Saga is ever pleasant, her suffering gave Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi) much-needed insight into her situation.
Things only got crazier as Arnheid revealed she is carrying Ketil’s (voiced by Hideaki Tezuka) child, especially considering how badly things are going for Ketil at the moment.
With everything happening right now, Gardar couldn’t have shown up at a worse time.
- Gardar speaks to Arnheid, surprised to see how close she was to him this whole time.
- Arnheid grows more terrified as Gardar’s behavior grows more erratic.
- Gardar asks Arnheid how Hjalti is doing and wonders how much he has grown.
- Before Arnheid can reply, Snake gets involved.
- Snake and Gardar begin to sword fight. Although
- Against the other’s wishes, Snake ends up knocking Gardar out and taking him alive.
- They lock Gardar up so they can punish him for his crimes later.
- When Einar plans on rescuing Gardar, Arnheid asks if she can explain her past to him.
- Arnheid tells him about her son Hjalti, who died in a raid as the result of a dispute between villages over resources.
- As she ends her story, Arnheid reveals that she is pregnant with Ketil’s child.
- Arnheid then asks Einar not to do anything.
- Sverkel attempts to stop Arnheid from visiting Gardar with a story about Ketil’s first love, who was murdered.
- After his story, Sverkel tells Arnheid he will not judge her before apologizing for not being of more help.
- Arnheid tells Sverkel she will be right back before leaving to visit Gardar.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 15 Release Date and Time
Episode 15 will be released on both Netflix and Crunchyroll on Monday, April 17th, 2023. The release time is 11:30 a.m E.T. Episode 15 is titled “Storm” and will have a run time of approximately 23 minutes.

Predictions
Although I was right about Arnheid’s relationship with Gardar being complicated, I was still wrong about the arrival of Leif’s ship. After several weeks, I am now convinced that the Thorfinn, Leif, and possibly Canute reunion will not happen until closer to the end of the season. With that in mind, I can change the focus of my predictions a bit.
- In the preview for next week, it seems Arnheid successfully makes it to see Gardar. I could see this visit going badly, especially when she tells him about the death of their son.
- I have a feeling Gardar will be executed in the next episode, maybe even against Snake’s wishes. Although he wants to punish Gardar, it looks as if Fox is leading the charge to kill him instead.
