Things begin to unravel for Joe in episode two of Joe Pickett Season 2. As he takes on the Brothers Grimm, his race to get out of the woods finally comes to an end, but at what cost? An old face returns to save the day and the hunt for Frank’s killer is about to begin.
Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
Joe awakens in the woods. As he attempts to get back on his feet, he sees the Grimm brothers eating a heart from an animal. The brothers’ heightened sense of smell causes them to know Joe is around. A shootout occurs, and Joe shoots one of the brothers in the face. The duo regroups and knows they must kill him, or people will come for them.
Joe stumbles into a cabin where a mysterious woman gives him a drink for the pain.
Who does Marybeth get to help find Joe?
Marybeth calls everyone in the town to tell them that Joe has gone missing, yet nobody is willing to help. Finally, she gets Sheriff Barnum on the phone, who agrees to send Deputy McLanahan to look for Joe and Frank in the morning. She also calls Deputy Cricket to her house at 3 AM to ask if she can contact Nate to find Joe.
Who rescues Joe from the woods?
After a massive shootout at the cabin he was in, Joe struggles to make it out of there without getting shot. After stumbling through the woods, he sees a body hanging from a tree but then passes out. He is awoken by being dragged through the woods, and as he looks up, Nate Romanowski saves him.
Nate sneaks into Cricket’s house to surprise her, but she is upset at him because he hasn’t contacted her at all. Although she wants him to stay, she mentions she got a job promotion and shouldn’t harbor a fugitive.
Is Frank dead?
Joe answers the Sheriff’s questions about what happened with the brothers in the woods. He asks Sheriff Barnum if the body found in the woods was Frank, and he confirms that Frank was last seen wearing the clothes next to the headless body.
The sheriffs can’t find anything in the woods that Joe mentioned. Deputy McLanahan puts doubt into the Sheriff’s head about Joe’s story and that maybe they need to focus on the person that killed Frank. The Sheriff calls Luke to let them know they called off the search, and Joe freaks out, breaking out of the hospital to go to the search site himself.
Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained
Sheriff Barnum tells Deputy McLanahan to stop Joe from entering the crime scene. Joe pushes through and questions why Sheriff Barnum called off the search. After bickering back and forth, the Sheriff tells him to go home and rest.
Before he leaves, they cut Franks’s body down, and a poker chip with a deer logo on it falls out of his body. As he examines the chip, we see a sniper in the distance looking through his scope as they are all at the crime scene.
