It is college day at Sherman Oaks High on Never Have I Ever, and the kids are freaking out. Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) does everything she can not to blow up her meeting with Princeton while one of her friends’ meetings with the school goes well.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Episode 4 Recap
Everything is going well for Devi, with her dating Ethan while she’s about to apply early for Princeton. One thing leads to another, and Devi becomes the sexually active high schooler she dreamed of. Ms. Warner approaches her and mentions to be careful of letting anyone drag her down.
It’s college day at school, and Fabiola’s mom has joined her to talk to the teacher. She wants her to apply to all the Ivy League schools, including Princeton, even after Fabiola pleads with her mom that Devi has dibs on that school since she was in the first grade.
As Devi prepares to head in, Fabiola and Eleanor agree with Ms. Warner about Ethan being bad for her.
How does Devi bomb her meeting with Princeton?
As Devi approached the Princeton table, she noticed that the lady was just like her, an Indian named Akshara. She also noticed that the line was long, but she took it upon herself to cut in line to try and talk to her. However, after repeated attempts to get her to go to the back of the line, Devi pushed Akshara to the point of saying she got all she needed from her.
After pleading with the Princeton lady to give her one more chance, she does. As things start to go well, Ethan shows up, and Devi gets scared, but he pulled the honor roll chart out of the principal’s office and hypes her up to the lady.
She was impressed, but after he left, she said to enjoy that cause there are none of those at Princeton.
After agreeing to meet with Princeton, Fabiola heads to grab a brochure to make her mom happy. However, Akshara sees that she has a robotics shirt on and gets excited. She shares everything that Princeton is doing to ramp up its robotics team.
Akshara shares the pamphlet with her and tells her to be in contact.
Why does Devi break up with Ethan?
As the duo are about to have sex in the janitor’s closet, a wallet drops out of Ethan’s bag. She notices the wallet belongs to Akshara, and he tries to play it off as if she deserves it for how she treated her during their meeting. Devi realizes that Ethan isn’t a bad boy but a bad person and breaks up with him.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Episode 4 Ending Explained
Devi decides to bring the wallet back to Akshara, and instead of leaving it at the doorstep, she knocks on the door and hands it back to her, telling her the truth about what happened. Akshara appreciates her honesty about what happened and tells her she has a bright future ahead of her.
The episode ends with us seeing all the kids entering their early college applications, including Fabiola, who is applying to Princeton.
