Will Harrison Ford be in Secret Invasion

Will Harrison Ford be in Secret Invasion? We discuss the MCU series and the rumors circulating of a potential big star joining the cast. Spoilers ahead.

Secret Invasion is now in full swing, showing how Nick Fury is trying to stop a Skrull invasion of Earth and identify who’s trying to kill him and stop the villain Gravik.

He’s not had much success so far, failing to stop a Skrull bombing in Moscow and very nearly failing to stop a British submarine attacking a U.N. plane; it’s safe to say he’s in over his head.

But he’s now got a lead on a Skrull agent who’s posing as a high-ranking US political figure and influencing President Ritson’s decisions from behind the scenes.

But it’s possible that the Skrulls might end up taking out the President because his replacement has already been confirmed, and it’s a familiar face in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), played by an even more familiar actor.

Who does Harrison Ford play in the MCU?

Harrison Ford will take over the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from the late William Hurt. The character is often antagonistic towards the Avengers, first trying to stop the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk and later driving the Avengers apart with the Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War. In the comics, Ross becomes the Red Hulk, who transformed into this monstrosity because of siphoned gamma radiation from the normal Hulk.

He’s also had an illustrious political career, going from US Lieutenant General to Secretary of State under President Matthew Ellis and Donald Trump.

In Captain America: Brave New World, he will get the top job as President himself, likely clashing with the new Captain America.

Will Harrison Ford be in Secret Invasion?

Of course, Ross isn’t President yet. That position is currently held by President Ritson (Dermot Mulroney), but as there are Skrulls in his administration, it’s likely this won’t be the case for much longer. How Ross assumes the role of President is unknown right now, but it’s probable this process will begin in Secret Invasion.

This means that Harrison Ford might show up towards the end of Secret Invasion, taking on the role of the MCU’s new US President or starting his climb to the top job.

But it’s important to state that it hasn’t been confirmed whether Ford will make his debut appearance in Secret Invasion, as Ross might only get a mention or be ignored entirely.

Does President Ritson die in Secret Invasion?

It’s currently not known whether Ritson will die in Secret Invasion, but things don’t look great for the current President.

America is currently on the brink of war with Russia, all of her allies have deserted her, Fury has now been fired and is essentially going rogue, and in episode three of Secret Invasion, it’s been revealed that Ritson’s top advisor James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) is actually a villainous Skrull, trying to take over Earth. Things can’t get much worse, right?

Well, it turns out they might. In trailers for the show, Ritson is pursued by attack helicopters, and his motorcade is shot at with rockets. At some point, one hits and flips his car, which isn’t going to be good for the President.

It’s very likely this attack is perpetrated by the Skrulls or someone they’ve provoked, and it might be here or just after that Ritson dies.

This is just speculation, as he could die in any number of other ways, or he might even make it to the end of the show, peacefully resign, or get voted out. But one thing’s for sure, Ritson’s time as the US President is limited.
