The 2023 comedy thriller The Out-Laws embraces a traditional whacky old-fashioned aesthetic.
The film was directed by Tyler Spindel and written by Evan Turner and Ben Zazove.
If the director’s name seems familiar, it is probably from other such comedy projects as Love and Germophobia, Deported, and The Wrong Missy.
The film has an exciting cast, including Ellen Barkin and Pierce Brosnan, and also stars Adam Devine, from the weird lad life comedy series Workaholics, in a lead role.
Plot-wise, we follow bank manager Devine, preparing to marry the love of his life, but is thrown into a world calamity when his bank is robbed.
On top of this, it seems that the perpetrators of the crime are his future in-laws, leading to the kind of madcap comedy situations you probably expect.
The film itself hits a lot of the beats that movies like this tend to do, but there are some quite lofty action sequences involved too, and the cast is trying their best with the material, so if this sounds like the kind of movie you enjoy, give, it a go.

Atlanta, Georgia
Reports indicate that the film was pretty much entirely shot in Atlanta and surrounding areas.
If you are local to the area or have a keen eye for landmarks, you will probably be able to spot a few giveaways in the backgrounds of certain scenes. Bank of America Plaza and Centennial Olympic Park are both visible, and we are sure that you can see The Fox Theatre there too.
Atlanta, Georgia, has been used in several productions, including massive superhero crowdpleasers Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Tucker, Georgia
The city of Tucker was used as a location in the movie. In particular, Main Street was utilized in filming. The filming took just over a week, and it was the biggest production that the city had been involved in.
The car chase and shootout were recorded here, and the cast and crew were very friendly with the locals, allowing them plenty of opportunities to starspot and watch the action.
In the past, Tucker residents have spotted Jason Bateman and Jennifer Anniston filming at the Tucker Recreation Centre.
The Graveyard
There is quite a striking chase sequence in the movie that features a sprawling graveyard and an armored vehicle demolishing its way through the tombstones. However, this particular location was a constructed set, and no final resting places were destroyed in making the film.
