Mickey Haller has returned for a second season of the highly-rated Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer. We see Haller adapting to this new fame that he has received after his big case against the Los Angeles DA’s office in Season 1. The second season follows the story of Michael Connelly’s fourth book, The Fifth Witness.
Throughout Season 2 Part 1, we follow Haller, who is overloaded with cases since becoming a star in Los Angeles. With this newfound stardom comes new characters threatening him personally and professionally. Haller is put to the ultimate test several times in choosing the right thing to do.

Russell Lawson is the bankruptcy consultant who ends up being one of Mickey Haller’s new clients and has a huge secret.
We meet Russell Lawson in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Episode 1. Lawson, a new client of Mickey Haller’s, was arrested for being drunk inside the wrong person’s house. After clearing his name, Lawson breaks into Haller’s house to reveal a big secret that he is the one who killed Martha Renteria. However, Lawson had paid Lorna in cash earlier that day to keep Haller on retainer so that he couldn’t tell anyone about his secret.
In Episode 2, Mickey heads to talk to Legal Siegal, who helps him fill in between the lines of how he can possibly turn Lawson in without being disbarred. After a giant game of cat and mouse between Mickey and Lawson, Mickey is able to convince Glory Days, the one person that knows Lawson’s true identity, to lure him into his house, and the cops are able to arrest Lawson and figure out he is the real killer of Martha Renteria based on his tattoo matching the description.
Russell played a massive part in the beginning of this series, and David Clayton Rogers was so good that I wish they would’ve explored this game between Russell and Mickey through a whole season instead of two episodes.
