Big Nate is an animated series created by Mitch Watson and is based on the comic strip and book series of the same name by Lincoln Peirce. The series follows Nate Wright and his group of friends at P.S. 38, taking on new adventures and challenges while at the school. Wright also navigates life without his mom as he lives with his father, Martin, and older sister, Ellen.
The series cast includes Ben Giroux as Nate Wright, Dove Cameron as Nate’s sister Ellen Wright, Rob Delaney as Nate’s father Martin Wright, and Arni Pantoja and Charlie Schlatter playing his friends Teddy Ortiz and Chad Applewhite.
The first season of Big Nate debuted on Paramount+ in early 2022, followed by additional episodes of season one that were released in August and December 2022. After its debut, it was quickly picked up by Paramount+ for a second season, released on the streaming platform on July 7, 2023.

Will there be a Big Nate Season 3 on Paramount+?

Currently, Big Nate has not been renewed for a third season.
With season one, Big Nate grabbed an incredible 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which was a significant reason why the series was renewed for a second season. The series grabbed two Children and Family Emmy Awards and Annie Awards nominations.
Currently, Season 2 doesn’t have enough reviews on the aggregate to share what the audiences think of the season. Although looking at IMDb, Big Nate has risen the ranks of their “popularity” tracking chart by jumping slightly over 50% since Season 2 was released. Of course, Paramount will keep a close eye on the watch minutes of the series over the next few weeks to determine if we will get a season three.
If we get a season three, what could that look like? Well, Big Nate is based on the comic strip and book series by author Lincoln Peirce, and there are seven books in the Big Nate series, so the writers of the show have plenty of source material to use to write a third season. Often, when a series has material to write off, studios know that they don’t have to dig too deep into creating new stories for the characters trimming down the turnaround time. So that bodes well for season three of Big Nate.
