Lost is the mystery series that first came out in 2004 and lasted for six seasons. The story surrounds the survivors of a plane crash, who find themselves deserted on an island.

Together, they must try to survive, and as time goes on, they slowly begin to realize they are not alone. 

This series has always been hit and miss with its audiences, with some saying it’s a brilliant mystery show and others saying the storyline was slow and predictable.

Either way, it certainly brought the audiences in for its storyline and acting. If you’re into mystery lead drama shows, here is a list of ten similar series you can watch after Lost

Stranger Things (2016)

Stranger Things has a Sci-Fi plot, excellent soundtrack, and intense acting, and is filled with 80’s nostalgia. The story surrounds a group of young friends in Indiana who witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. Each season is filled with mystery and drama. 

The OA (2016)

Brit Marling plays the role of Prairie Johnson, a young woman who returns home after a 7-year disappearance. Not only is she alive and well, but she is also no longer blind, and she won’t talk about her time missed. This mystery drama has two seasons you can easily invest in. 

The Haunting of Hill House (2018)

This drama mini-series is a modern re-imagining of the Shirley Jackson novel that follows the story of a bunch of siblings who grow up in a house that becomes known as the most haunted house in the country.

As adults, they’re forced together to relive their past and confront their ghosts. Similar to Lost, this series uses supernatural elements to mirror what is going on internally.  

Manifest (2018)

Manifest is a supernatural drama where 191 passengers are presumed dead. When they land in New York, the passengers realize they lost five years of their lives. Trying to adjust to their new lives, disturbing realities come to light, sending them on a path of investigation and discovery.

Similar to Lost, this series is set after the consequences of a plane ride and has strangers being forced to work together to survive and discover the truth. 

Heroes (2006)

This supernatural drama series follows the story of a bunch of ordinary people inexplicably developing superhuman abilities. They use their powers to prevent catastrophes and save humanity from destruction.

The show was canceled after four seasons, but it’s still worth investing in for its supernatural elements. 

Six Feet Under (2001)

Before Nathaniel Fisher Sr. dies, he hands over the control of his funeral home business to his sons Nathaniel Samuel Jr and David. But the brothers and the entire family are caught in a conflict.

The Leftovers (2014)

This series is directed by Daon Lindel, who also directed the supernatural drama series Lost. The story is set three years after an unexplainable global event called ‘Sudden Departure’  2 percent of the population (nearly 140 million people) disappear. It’s about how the people left to deal with their grief and loss.

Twin Peaks (1990) 

David Lynch created this iconic, quirky, freaky, supernatural series, and is one everyone should try and watch at least once in their lifetime. This storyline follows the investigation of the mysterious murder of a small-town homecoming queen. It’s odd, but it’s brilliant.

The Prisoner (1967)

The Prisoner is a British television series that centers around an unnamed agent (Patrick McGoohan) who tries to flee his country after abruptly quitting his high-ranking government job. He’s abducted and held in a seaside village, which is tightly monitored. There are 17 episodes, so it’s short but packs a punch as it’s filled with mystery and surprises. 

Flight 29 Down (2005)

Finishing this list with a series that shares similar themes with Lost but is instead a teen comedy drama. A group of adolescents are stranded on a South Pacific Island after their plane crashes. It’s like a kids’ version of Lost without the supernatural elements.

These kids have to figure out how to survive.
