Where was Fatal Seduction on Netflix filmed

Where was Fatal Seduction on Netflix filmed? We discussed the popular 2023 Netflix series and the locations used by the production team.

The 2023 South African Netflix thriller series Fatal Seduction is a steamy fourteen-part series that finds Nandi, played by Kgomotso Christopher, and best friend Brenda, played by Lunathi Mampfu, having a girls’ weekend away and bumping into handsome Lothario Prince Grootboom, who is playing the conniving and duplicitous Jacob.

Jacob is a player that catches Nandi’s eye, leading to an illicit affair that escalates out of control. The show has plenty of twists and turns and is designed for a mature audience, so approach cautiously, as things do get somewhat spicy very quickly.

As the stakes get higher for the cast of characters, with a deadly turn of events, Nandi finds herself in a complex web of lies and deceit, with everyone out for themselves and nobody being what they seem.

So far, there have been some mixed reviews for the show. It has to be noted that many feel this is very similar in tone and plot to Dark Desire, but if you are interested in the way the show is shaping up, you should check out our episode reviews and recaps right here at Ready Steady Cut.

However, this article will not bog you down with the melodramatic going on of the characters in the show. Instead, Let’s try to avert our gaze away from the sensual drama and answer the question of where Fatal Seduction on Netflix was filmed.

Where was Fatal Seduction on Netflix filmed – a breakdown of locations

Cape Town, South Africa

As the show is based here, it is a no-brainer that the primary filming location would be Cape Town.

South Africa has been used more and more by TV shows for filming, as the diverse locations and landmarks make it easy and accessible for production crews to recreate what they require for their show.

As well as this, there are, of course, studios built explicitly for film and tv production, and there is easy and affordable access to the location, especially from Europe.

The City of Cape Town’s Film Office processes over 10,000 permit applications annually, so they are well-versed in ensuring that crews are given every opportunity to film in the area.

Shows such as Black Mirror, Outlander, and Doctor Who have recently used the area for episodes of their shows.

Regarding Fatal Seduction, it has been hard to pinpoint every location. It does appear that many of the interiors were recorded in studio space, so fans of spotting locations will have to keep an eye open to see if they can see anything in the background of the exterior shots that will give away precise localities. However, it is safe to say the whole shooting match was recorded in Cape Town.
