Summary

“Bruise Like A Fist” was an underwhelming episode that didn’t add much to the overall story.

This recap of the Paramount+ series Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 3, “Bruise Like a Fist,” contains spoilers.

Cruz is prepared for her mission to get closer to Aaliyah in episode three of Special Ops: Lioness. While this goes down, Joe’s team goes on a mission that turns out to be quite deadly, and Joe catches her daughter doing something she shouldn’t be.

Special Ops: Lioness Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

Cruz is on her way to Chesapeake to meet Aaliyah and is on the phone with Joe getting one last run-through over what she should and shouldn’t say while with them. Cruz and Kaitlyn are sitting down to discuss Amrohi and Aaliyah and how they have more connections Stateside than she expected.

Kyle approaches Joe when she leaves the restaurant saying that one of his marks is in trouble and he needs her team to help him out of the bind. Although Joe pushes back at him, she agrees to give him three guys, but they must return in 48 hours. Joe heads to the hotel where her team is doing overwatch for Cruz to tell three of her team to head to help Kyle.

When Cruz gets to Aaliyah, things go south fast with Aaliyah making her put on a different bathing suit leading to her revealing the bruises on her body. A doctor is called in, and Joe and her team think they might have to get her out of Dodge. However, Cruz steps up and hits a home run with the doctor.

What does Joe catch her daughter doing?

Upon returning home from a stressful day at work, Joe catches her daughter with her boyfriend Michael doing some heavy petting. After calling his mother, Joe lays into her daughter Kate, who gives it back to her. When Joe confronts her husband Neil about Kate, he mentions that they negotiated heavy petting but nothing below the waist, pissing Joe off.

After one of the men at the house tries to get aggressive with Cruz, she staves him off. However, he tried to head up to her room, and while Cruz waited for him to enter, security shut him down before getting in.

What happens on the extraction mission?

Joe’s guys follow the police van carrying the mark needing rescue. When they got ready to approach the van, they noticed two other cars were trying to extract the witness themselves. Joe’s crew are able to get the mark out of Dodge, but not without gunfire and a massive car crash.

The following morning, Aaliyah’s crew sends Sami home for what he attempted to do to Cruz. It was followed by them announcing it was time for them to head somewhere else. Joe and her team realize that they are leaving by plane, meaning they aren’t going to be able to track her right away.
