This article contains spoilers for the ending of Sintonia Season 4 Episode 8, as well as previous episodes of the season.
Sintonia is a quietly successful Brazilian Netflix crime drama from Guilherme Quintella, KondZilla, and Felipe Braga, now enjoying its fourth season of complex, interlocking character drama following the lives of childhood best friends Rita, Nando, and Doni.
The latest eight-episode outing — up from six in previous seasons — picks up from the ending of Season 3, a shootout at a cafe that kick-starts this season’s longwinded but engaging plot.
We shan’t recap the entire season here. To cut a long story short, Nando, who goes into hiding in Bolivia, is trying to undercover a snitch within his organization who facilitated an attempt on his life while in self-imposed exile, and get Scheyla out of jail, the latter having been imprisoned to pressure him.

Rita, meanwhile, enjoys a more fruitful personal journey, enrolling in law school and getting work in a legal clinic representing those unfortunate enough not to be able to afford real counsel. Finally, Doni parts ways from his record label when they try to force him into a bad deal and sets up his own label comprising young battle rappers from his favela.
As we approach the finale, Nando, having taken revenge on Messinho, who turned out to be the snitch, is trying to convince Rita to help him break Scheyla out of jail.

How does Nando get Scheyla released?
Nando’s eagerness to get Scheyla out of prison by any means necessary almost led him back down a dark path, however, paying off Rita’s redemptive arc this season, he’s able to instead secure Scheyla’s legitimate release by turning himself in.
With a good word from Rita to William, who can negotiate with the judge about a deal, both Scheyla and Cleyton are exonerated and Nando takes their place on the inside.
Of course, the government wants to turn Nando on the cartel and use him to their advantage, but he isn’t having that, continuing to pull his own strings from inside.
Is Doni able to start his record label?
Doni’s new record label is a roaring success — at least until it isn’t.
A block party headlined by Doni himself and opened by the three artists signed to him is an enormous success — you can sort of tell this is KondZilla’s favorite story strand, for obvious reasons — but the VA Records is quickly brought back down to reality when they’re mugged for their entire profits on the way home.
Undeterred, Doni has Dodonka inspire his artists. They continue to work well together and throw another party, this one unsullied. It seems like Doni has a bright future with his new label.
What happens to Rita?
Rita has perhaps the happiest, most hopeful ending of anyone outside of potentially Doni.
With Cleyton free, the two live together, and Rita helps Scheyla out with the kids. She continues to study law and give back to the community, which is as fitting as end to her story — if this indeed the end — as one could have imagined for her.
