Here’s a breakdown of what happened in every episode of Good Omens Season 2:

Recap – What happened in Good Omens Season 2? (Episodes 1-6)

Episode 1 – “The Arrival”

Before the Beginning, Crowley helps to create the entire universe, although Aziraphale tells him that God will soon be scrapping his creation. Unhappy, Crowley questions God’s decisions; this seems to be the start of his falling out with Heaven.

In the present, archangel Gabriel has gone missing from Heaven; he appears naked at Aziraphale’s bookshop. Gabriel has amnesia but is aware that something horrible is coming. Aziraphale worries and asks Crowley for help. Hell wants Crowley to hand Gabriel over, though.

The duo performs a miracle to hide Gabriel from Heaven and Hell. The miracle sets off alarm bells in Heaven; their location is given away immediately.

Episode 2 – “The Clue”

In 2500 BC, in the Land of Uz, Job was forsaken by God. Crowley is ordered to kill all of Job’s goats and children. Crowley secretly keeps them all alive, though, hidden from the angels. Aziraphale starts to question God’s decisions, unsure of Job’s test. Together, they trick the angels and save Job’s children.

While in the present, the angels question Aziraphale. Their miracle has worked; the angels don’t recognize Gabriel at all. Aziraphale lies to them, stating that he performed a miracle to make Maggie and Nina fall in love instead. He must now prove that they are in love.

Episode 3 – “I Know Where I’m Going”

Muriel visits Aziraphale to verify the miracle. Crowley buys them some time with lies about the miracle. Aziraphale travels to Edinburgh to investigate a clue, while Crowley is tasked with making Maggie and Nina fall in love for real, this time back in London.

In flashbacks, Aziraphale and Crowley visit a graveyard in Edinburgh in 1827. They follow a homeless woman called Elspeth, who digs up dead bodies for money. Aziraphale tries to convince her to change her ways, but he is the one who changes his mind in the end.

Elspeth tries to kill herself after her best friend’s death. Crowley offers her all of Aziraphale’s money as a kind gesture. The demons notice this good deed and drag Crowley back to Hell. In the present day, Crowley is threatened by Shax.

Episode 4 – “The Hitchhiker”

Shax confronts Aziraphale, confirming that Gabriel is hiding out at the bookshop. Shax asks Beelzebub for an army of the undead to attack this store; she is granted permission.

In flashbacks, Aziraphale and Crowley find themselves in the middle of the war in 1941 London. Three Nazis are killed and sent straight to Hell. Demon Furfur asks these Nazis to return to the land of the living as zombies to find proof of Aziraphale and Crowley’s collaboration.

The Nazis gather their proof while Aziraphale and Crowley perform a magic show on the West End. Furfur snaps a photo of the two together, but Aziraphale manages to steal the photograph, saving them from damnation in the process.

Episode 5 – “The Ball”

Shax rallies her troops for an assault on Aziraphale’s bookshop. Meanwhile, Aziraphale prepares for the shopkeeper association’s monthly meeting, which he is hosting. Aziraphale decides to use the meeting to get Maggie and Nina to fall in love.

He throws a Jane Austen-style ball instead of the usual, boring meeting. The guests dance and socialize together, although the demons await them outside. Shax initiates war, but Crowley saves the humans before the demons attack.

Muriel observes this incident from a safe distance. Crowley asks her to arrest him and take him to Heaven for his crimes. Muriel and Crowley then head up to Heaven.

Episode 6 – “Every Day”

The finale begins with the showdown between Shax’s demon army and Aziraphale’s bookshop guests. Aziraphale, Maggie, and Nina fight the demons with a protective shield and fire extinguishers. Then Aziraphale is forced to use his own halo to destroy the entire army. This is seen as a declaration of war by Hell.

Crowley looks through Gabriel’s files. It is revealed that Gabriel disagreed with Heaven’s plans to launch a second Armageddon. This led to Gabriel having his memories wiped. He escaped Heaven, though, with his memories hidden inside a fly.

Beelzebub arrives and hands Gabriel his memories back. These memories show that Beelzebub and Gabriel were in love; together, they stopped another apocalypse from taking place. They escape together in the present.

Metatron offers Aziraphale the job of Supreme Archangel. Crowley tells Aziraphale how he truly feels about him. Aziraphale wants to live with Crowley in Heaven, but Crowley wants to be with Aziraphale on Earth. They go their separate ways after one final kiss.
