Summary

“Love Fest” is a repetitive and uninspired installment from the series. The show tries to sell this realistic idea of adolescence with forced, fake fun, but it just comes across as contrived and cliched instead.

We recap the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 6, “Love Fest,” which contains spoilers.

The gang has officially lost the fight for Susannah’s summer home. Aunt Julia (Kyra Sedgwick) has sold the house to the highest bidder, and the teens’ dreams of rescuing the place are now over.

While contemplating this disastrous result, Belly (Lola Tung) decides to throw one last house party in “Love Fest” to celebrate the good times they shared at this idyllic place.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 6 Recap

After discovering that the house has been sold, Skye tries to reason with their mother, but it is no use. Aunt Julia has too many bad memories tied to the summer home; she wants rid of them.

Skye can’t save the place and refuses to leave with Julia.

Back in the beach house, the teens discuss the bad news further. Belly decides to throw a party instead. The episode then solely concentrates on the preparation for this party and the subsequent outcome of all that booze and built-up emotion.

Jeremiah can be found daydreaming by the pool. Belly pushes Jeremiah into the pool to cheer him up. The two share an intimate moment and nearly kiss.

Later, they hold hands, but this tenderness is interrupted by Taylor. They are needed to help on a supply run for the party.

How does Belly buy alcohol for the party?

The brothers and Belly try to buy booze from the local store, but they are all underage. Conrad’s fake ID doesn’t work, and Jeremiah is rejected as well. Belly decides to try her luck next. She speaks openly with the cashier and tells them about her dreadful year. Miraculously this stunt works, and they leave with enough alcohol for the rager of the summer.

Meanwhile, Cam and Skye bond further. Cam collects his sister’s DJ gear for the party, and they talk about her passing. Back at the beach house, Steven and Taylor are also getting closer.

They plan party invites and the playlist, flirting by the pool. This bonding session is also interrupted.

Next, the brothers and Belly go shopping for snacks and decorations. Here, Conrad and Belly seem closer too. Belly apologizes for the way she left things at Susannah’s funeral.

Conrad says that he had a panic attack. He wishes Belly had comforted him. Jeremiah then interrupts this beautiful moment. Do you see a pattern?

The preparations are complete, the party is officially underway. Belly glides around the place in Susannah’s roller-skates. She falls into Jeremiah’s arms, and the couple then flirt with one another.

Elsewhere, Skye and Cam continue to bond too by the DJ set.

Taylor’s boyfriend Milo crashes the party looking for Taylor. Everyone except Milo knows that Steven and Taylor are getting closer together.

Skye and Cam try to warn Taylor before it is too late. They can’t find her, though, so they decide to sit and chat by the pool.

Do Skye and Cam kiss?

Skye talks about wanting to be more outgoing and asks to kiss Cam. The two share a kiss by the pool. This magical moment is left uninterrupted thankfully.

While Milo searches the party for Taylor, Steven summons Taylor for a dance-off. They dance with one another in front of the other guests and then share an intimate moment together.

Steven confesses he has strong feelings for her. They are about to kiss when Milo stops them in their tracks. Not again!

At the very same moment, Jeremiah and Belly are getting more intimate. They’re just about to kiss when the word ‘fight’ echoes throughout the building. Steven and Milo are squaring up to one another.

The teens try to stop them from fighting, but it is no use. In the end, Taylor has to place herself between them both to end the fight.

Taylor is through with Milo; he doesn’t even remember her middle name. But Steven knows what it is! Later, Steven apologizes for fighting with Milo. Taylor isn’t fussed, she kisses Steven. Apparently, true love is knowing someone’s middle name.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 6 Ending Explained

What is Julia’s compromise?

Within all the chaos, Skye has good news. Julia has put a condition into the contract. The teens can rent the summer house for one week every summer. Belly and Jeremiah celebrate, but Conrad doesn’t want this compromise.

This leads to Jeremiah and Conrad arguing. Conrad always wants things to be perfect. Jeremiah brings up when Conrad asked him if he could date Belly. This upsets Belly, who then storms off.

The brothers continue their argument. Jeremiah calls Conrad a coward.

The party breaks down further, with graffiti, vomiting, and smashed windows. A drunk Belly escapes to the beach alone, where she argues with Conrad further.

With everything falling apart, Belly returns to the beach house and phones her mom. Crying on the phone, she asks Laurel to come and fix everything.
