The release date for this Indian spy movie was moved several times before it finally premiered on Netflix in January. Despite it not impressing the critics, audiences enjoyed the action-packed title, especially as it’s loosely based on real-life events.
Official Premise: Set in the 1970s, an undercover Indian spy takes on a deadly mission to expose a covert nuclear weapons program in the heart of Pakistan.

12. 65 (2023)
While a mediocre action sci-fi, this Adam Driver-led movie features fun action scenes and alien dinosaurs. The movie is also the first feature in which the actor got to put his real-life military training to good use.
Official Premise: After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Adam Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth… 65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive.

11. The Mother (2023)
Despite having Jennifer Lopez in the lead, The Mother wasn’t particularly warmly received by critics or fans of the celeb. On the upside, Joseph Fiennes steals the show in every scene he’s in.
Official Premise: A deadly female assassin comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men.

10. Murder Mystery 2 (2023)
This feature marks the third collaboration between Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. While the critical response to the second Murder Mystery movie was as mixed as to the first, considering its popularity, we’re likely to get a third.
Official Premise: Now full-time detectives struggling to get their private eye agency off the ground, Nick and Audrey Spitz find themselves at the center of an international abduction when their friend, the Maharaja, is kidnapped at his own lavish wedding.

9. JUNG_E (2023)
JUNG_E is a South Korean dystopian action flick set in a world where climate change pushes humanity underground. The film combines SciFi themes with fast-paced action sequences, resulting in a thrilling ride for the 1 hour and 38 minutes runtime.
Official Premise: Set in the 22nd century, climate change has caused the planet to become uninhabitable, and humans live within a man-made shelter. A war takes place within the shelter. Jung Yi was the elite leader of the Allied forces. She becomes the subject of a brain cloning experiment. The cloning experiment is a potential key to winning the war.

8. Extraction 2 (2023)
This action-packed sequel features plenty of fun scenes (including a bazooka in the center of Vienna) and a brilliant performance from Hemsworth. Netflix announced the third movie in the franchise around the same time Extraction 2 first came out.
Official Premise: Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film Extraction. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

7. Kill Boksoon (2023)
Written and directed by Sung-hyun Byun, this Korean action flick centers on the relationship between a single mother and her teenage daughter. The mom moonlighting as a contract killer complicates things a little.
Official Premise: Single mother Kill Bok Soon is one of the world’s deadliest assassins, thanks to her 100% success rate on contract killings. Bok Soon works for M.K Ent, which is run by the man who taught her, Cha Min Kyo. The pair hold mutual respect for each other, but Kill Bok Soon understands that a moment’s notice could take everything away from her. Just before Kill Bok Soon is due to renew her contract, loyalties are put to the test when Bok Soon is involved in a kill-or-be-killed incident.

6. AKA (2023)
The French thriller was written and directed by Morgan S. Dalibert, and it follows an undercover agent who finds himself facing an unexpected moral dilemma.

This well-received Hindi-language thriller filmed in London marks Anirudh Iyer’s directorial debut. It follows a well-known actor who finds himself involved in a real-life action flick after attracting the rage of a powerful mobster.
Official Premise: After getting caught up in an accident while filming in Haryana, icon Maanav now lives in hiding.

4. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023)
It’s been 30 years since the live-action U.S. adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai franchise, Power Rangers, first graced our television screens. So, it made sense for the Netflix Special reunion to take place.
Official Premise: When Trini, the Yellow Ranger, is killed, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are called back into war nearly 30 years later of their successors came in. Rita Repulsa manages to return as a super-powered robot out for revenge using a time warp to ensure the Power Rangers are killed before ever being summoned to become Rangers. Trini’s daughter Minh sets her mind on killing her mother’s killer

2. The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die (2023)
In this movie sequel to the popular five-season series, The Last Kingdom, Uhtred finally has his chance at uniting all the Kingdoms in England. The film was directed by Edward Bazalgette, who also directed 6 episodes in the original series.
Official Premise: Alexander Dreymon reprises his lead role as the great warrior Uhtred of Bebbanburg, who must ride once more across a fractured kingdom with several of the series’ much-loved returning characters as they battle alongside and against new allies and enemies. Following the death of King Edward, a battle for the crown ensues as rival heirs and invaders compete for power. And when an alliance comes seeking Uhtred’s help in their plans, Uhtred faces a choice between those he cares for most and the dream of forming a united England.

1. Nimona (2023)
This film spent over three years in distribution hell before finally getting a worldwide Netflix release. Based on a popular namesake graphic novel, the movie follows the adventures of a knight trying to clear his name.
Official Premise: When Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic, medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem — who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona’s the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc — for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to… wreak serious havoc.
