Where was Guns & Gulaabs on Netflix filmed – a breakdown of filming locations
Uttarakhand, North India
The series takes place in the town of Gulaabganj, but if that doesn’t sound familiar, it’s because it’s not a real town at all.
A village called Gulabganj in the Vidisha district in the Madhya Pradesh State in India has a tiny population.
This area is known for producing soybeans, but this is not the town featured in the TV series.
The main location for filming seems to be in Uttarakhand.
Known as The Land of the Gods due to its religious significance, the area is famous for its connections to pilgrimage and the many Hindu temples found there.
Dehradun
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and can be found in the Doon Valley on the foothills of The Himalayas and seems to be the primary shooting location for the show.
Mussoorie
It also appears that some principal photography was done in Mussoorie, which is a municipal board around thirty-five kilometers from Dehradun.
It has an adjoining town called Landour, and there is a hill station located in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range.
Filming of the series was seriously hampered by the Covid pandemic.
The showrunners would reveal that the third wave of COVID-19 in the area meant the shooting schedule was hampered, taking longer than expected.
The shoot would officially finish in April 2022.
