Summary

An enjoyable episode appears to bring the potential for raised stakes.

We recap the Netflix K-Drama series Destined with You Season 1 Episode 6, which contains significant spoilers.

With a strong balance to its ongoings, this episode of Destined with You was certainly one of the better ones we’ve seen. The idea that Sin-yu (Rowoon) might be interested in Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah) regardless of the spell is certainly worth considering now, and it seems clear that both Jae-gyeong (Ha Jun) and Na-yeon (Yura) will be a large factor in proceedings going forward.

Destined with You Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

How does Sin-yu act after his drunken night?

Unable to recall the events of the night prior, including whether he kissed Hong-jo after all, Sin-yu tries to get answers the following day. However, any response he does receive from his civil servant crush is vague, leaving him to further contemplate what might’ve happened.

Next, Na-yeon meets with Hong-jo. The former is apologetic here and expresses her sorrow about hearing the news that the latter’s father died when she dropped out of school.

Then, the two former friends appeared to edge closer to clearing the air before Sin-yu’s somewhat awkward arrival caused Hong-jo to exit quickly.

How does Jae-gyeong react to what he saw between Sin-yu and Hong-jo?

Later, Jae-gyeong eats alongside Hong-jo, and the pair discuss the civil servant’s relationship with Sin-yu. It’s said here that the legal advisor’s drunken encounter the night before was one based around a “complaint,” which seems to just about do enough to quell Jae-gyeong’s worries.

As Seo-goo prevents Eun-young from being put in danger by a heated complainant (an act which gets him deserved gratitude), Hong-jo and Sin-yu continue to move forward with their plans to try and undo the love spell when the full moon rises.

Additionally, the legal advisor does consider that he might have indeed kissed his love interest while drunk based on how she reacts when it’s brought up in conversation, but later this episode, we see nothing of the sort took place, and he actually fell asleep first.

The following day, Sin-yu is warned by Jae-gyeong to steer clear of Hong-jo’s house. Then, the legal advisor is informed that Lee Hyun-seo of Haum has “given up” in his trial against City Hall.

Thus, the rich CEO will pay the necessary compensation for road occupation so long as, in return, he receives “development preference.”

How does the disaster nullification spell end up conducted?

Despite knowing through drunken words that Sin-yu doesn’t want to proceed with the “disaster nullification spell” and that he may be believing what he’s feeling is “love,” Hong-jo still meets with the legal advisor on the night of the full moon. Nevertheless, their spellcasting is delayed initially, thanks to a missing dog.

After thanking Sin-yu for all he did for her, Hong-jo completes the spell and gives a charm to the legal advisor to carry with him for 100 days. This procedure appears to work, too, given that Sin-yu later calls her to express relief that he didn’t think of her throughout the night.

What happens next for Hong-jo?

As a happy Hong-jo gets a ride to work from Jae-gyeong, as well as an invitation to join him at the dog shelter that Sunday, Yoon-jo finds herself frustrated that her husband won’t take any advice she gives. Though Kim Wook unexpectedly cheers her up when taking on board her opinions and purchasing Se-heon’s titanic model.

Elsewhere, Hong-jo is slightly upset to hear Na-yeon apologize, knowing she’d be working at City Hall, and reminds her “friend” that nothing will spread about her dating Sin-yu or being the mayor’s daughter if she doesn’t “advertise” it.

Moving on, that night, Hong-jo begins to feel overwhelmed when Joong-beom tries to take her out to dinner and gift more flowers.

Fortunately, Sin-yu intervenes, but the civil servant remains worried about just how much of the love potion Joong-beom might’ve consumed.

Destined with You Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained

Continuing, it’s soon revealed that the “disaster nullification spell” hasn’t yet had an effect on Sin-yu, who proclaims he missed Hong-jo. The legal advisor does soon have a theory to say why this is, though, as the civil servant had actually written “flower” on the charm meant to be carried around by Sin-yu for the spell to work.

To end the episode, Jae-gyeong arrives to see Sin-yu talking with Hong-jo, and the legal advisor openly expresses his apparent “love” for the civil servant.
