Summary

A decent instalment which picks up the pace in its second half.

Although it started quite slow, Season 1 Episode 11 of Destined with You had a strong second half and a well-executed ending, so let’s recap. The truth about just how evil Joong-beom (Ahn Sang-woo) is was smartly built and will now have serious ramifications, given Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah) has been pushed into a deep pit.

Destined with You Season 1 Episode 11 Recap and Breakdown

The chapter begins with a shaken Sin-yu trying to adjust, clearly curious as to why the red hand returned when Hong-jo embraced him. It’s something the legal advisor soon ponders more thoroughly, though seemingly without a firm conclusion. Elsewhere, Jae-gyeong realizes Na-yeon is the reason Hong-jo was to be asked to transfer branches and warns her to think before she acts.

As Sin-yu watches the New Year sunrise alongside Hong-jo, Jae-gyeong stumbles across the pair, and the trio soon eat together. It’s unsurprisingly fairly awkward, but afterward, the civil servant’s mind only seems to go towards the legal advisor’s health. So, Hong-jo proposes conducting a mind-body cleanse spell, on a phone-call with Sin-yu which turns lovey-dovey.

At work, Sin-yu asks for Na-yeon’s anger to be directed at him, given he fell for Hong-jo first. Then, the legal advisor discovers more about Joong-beom, a man who once had rumours about him killing his missing wife spread around City Hall (he was acquitted, however).

What does Jae-gyeong tell Hong-jo?

Following a night of food, drink, and karaoke, Hong-jo and Sin-yu part ways with a kiss. Here, the civil servant subsequently arrives home to find a drunken Jae-gyeong, regretting her crush on him ending and not being called by his name, among other things.

The next day, Jae-gyeong fails in his attempt to avoid Hong-jo, prior to calmly telling his friend he does wish to be called by his name going forward. In the background, though, Joong-beom lurks, taking photos of the two together.

Setting up a checkup now his hallucinations are back, Sin-yu returns to thinking about the red hand on his face. Specifically, the legal advisor recalls being told he killed the owner of it.

As Hong-jo assures Sin-yu that what matters is the present, not their potential past life link (or if one was the “mortal enemy” of the other), Na-yeon takes action by posting pictures of the civil servant alongside both Sin-yu, and Jae-gyeong.

Confronting Na-yeon, Hong-jo gets no clear answer on the post made about her, aside from more words about potentially having a stalker. What does happen, though, is rumors spread around City Hall about the civil servant “two-timing.”

Destined with You Season 1 Episode 11 Ending Explained

In a meeting with Joong-beom, Sin-yu responds to taunts about pictures of Hong-jo being posted by asking about the gardener’s missing wife. Concurrently, human bones are found during a dig, ones the legal advisor suspects could be linked to Joong-beom’s partner.

To end the episode, Joong-beom pushes Hong-jo into a pit, while Sin-yu tries to call her.
