Summary
With Gojo sealed, this episode takes a moment to regroup and does so while still keeping the story compelling.
As we reach Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Episode 10, fans wondered how Geto (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai), a character we had seen die in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, had managed to return for the Shibuya Incident Arc.
Now, it seems that his appearance was really just a ruse to trap Gojo (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) all along. With the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer now locked away in the Prison Realm, Mahito and the others are free to wreak havoc all over Shibuya.
What their end goal is, no one knows yet, but knowing them, it is sure to bring plenty of death and destruction before this evening is over.
The episode opens with Yuji receiving a message from Mechamaru via earpiece. He says that Gojo has been sealed. Mei Mei does not believe him, but Mechamaru assures her it is true, as the earpiece was only meant to activate under the conditions that he was dead and Gojo had been sealed.
Mechamaru tells Mei Mei’s team about the four separate veils lowered over Shibuya: one to trap common people, one to trap Gojo, the one preventing sorcerers from entering, and another veil similar to the first, meant for trapping common people.
While on the phone, Ijichi is suddenly stabbed by curse user Haurta, who is hunting down everyone outside the veil.
Jogo and Mahito decide that whoever runs into Yuji can first either kill him or use him to resurrect Sukuna.
Mimiko and Nanako demand Geto’s body back, but the curse user who is possessing him refuses.
Nanami’s group meets up with Yuji. With Mechamaru, they realize the best way to attack is from neighboring stations, but they will have to lift the veil if they want to achieve that.
Nanami orders Ino to take Yuji and Megumi to try to lift the curtain near the station while he leaves to find Ijichi. Meanwhile, on top of another building, Jiro, Ogami, and another curse user overhear that Gojo has been sealed.
While this episode did not feel slow by any means, it definitely felt like a transition from one major event to the next. It was informative and seemed like it was setting the foundation for whatever battles the next episode might bring.
Still, I enjoyed the episode and the way it tried to explain things. Jujutsu world and terminology can be hard to keep track of sometimes, so any extra information they can provide is always appreciated.
Mechamaru’s reappearance was unexpected but now unwelcome. Yuta’s premature death had been disappointing, so it was nice seeing it isn’t going to be the last memory viewers have of his character.
