Summary
While much more exciting than a filler, it’s clear this episode serves as a setup for the upcoming battle.
Senku’s crew is feeling stronger than ever going into Episode 15 of Dr. Stone Season 3. Although down two key members, with Moz on the side of the Kingdom of Science for now, taking down Ibara may have just become easier than we thought. The only thing left to worry about is the petrification device, but now that they’re sure it’s a work of science and not the supernatural, even that doesn’t feel as daunting as before. As long as Moz doesn’t betray Senku before the mission ends, things may just go according to plan for once.
Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 15 Recap
The episode opens with Ibara’s men telling Ibarra just how strong these new hooded men attacking them are. They claim the men are just as strong as Moz, completely unaware it’s him in disguise.
What is Senku’s plan to counter Moz?
To counter Moz when he inevitably betrays them, Senku has Kaseki create a gun to stop him. Although he previously said they would not waste resources on making guns, Senku assures this gun isn’t strong enough to kill but will be an asset when it comes to getting an advantage on Moz.
The group is a bit uncomfortable about the idea of a gun, but Senku assures with petrification’s healing abilities, no one will die. The group realizes they have to resurrect Yo to use the weapon since he’s a former cop. Senku resurrects Kinro, Magma, and Nikki for extra strength on the side. Kinro is relieved to learn that Ginro is at least alive.
The group finally perfects a more stable drone, but it has more complicated controls. They elect Rysuui as the one who will operate it.
How does Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 15 end?
Senku declares they are ready and will attack at dawn.
To cover up the humming sounds from their drone, Senku chooses to attack near the Cliff of the Howling Seas. Ibara’s men meet them on the cliff and immediately try to overwhelm them, but Kinro steps forward to guard them.
Dr. Stone has a knack for producing fun episodes that dump a lot of information and accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. While this wouldn’t work for a lot of series, it suits this anime and its subject nature quite well.
This is one of those episodes. It’s an entertaining watch but with a good amount of plot to take in and follow as well. I always appreciate how quickly they go through the in-between moments to keep the series exciting and make sure something new is always happening.
It’s clear this episode is meant to prepare for the excitement of next week’s epic war, but it still manages to have several stand-out moments of its own, like the gun scene, to keep things interesting.
