The Turkish Netflix series The Tailor has managed to find an audience that is still eager for more even after three seasons. The story, which follows the turbulent life of Peyami, a wealthy tailor, has been fraught with ridiculous melodrama and soapy twists, with the third season, which debuted on November 3, 2023, continuing to leave the door open for even more shenanigans, Season 4 looks likely, even if information about it is a little scant right now.

Still, we’ve rounded up everything we know, analyzed the show’s previous performance, put on our thinking caps, and are happy to present to you everything you should expect about a subsequent season. And, as always, we’ll keep this article updated with any new information as soon as we have it.

Has The Tailor on Netflix been renewed for Season 4?

At the time of writing, the steamy show has not been renewed for Season 4. However, as you know, it is still a little soon after the release of Season 3 for Netflix to have looked at the data and decided on the show’s future.

The Tailor does tend to operate on a wildly shortened timeframe compared to other shows, though. Season 1 debuted in May 2023, and Season 2 was released a mere two months after that, in July. With the release of Season 3 on November 3, that means three whole seasons of the show have been released within a calendar year.

The first two seasons were successful. According to Netflix Top 10, the first season spent five weeks in the global top ten, and the second charted for four. These are impressive numbers for a relatively obscure Turkish melodrama, and both seasons broke the top ten in over 60 countries. By all accounts, The Tailor is a global hit, doesn’t seem to be becoming less popular, and can seemingly be produced in a record-breaking amount of time. Season 4 seems almost inevitable, especially since Season 3 implied there was more of the story still to be told, for better or worse.

How did The Tailor Season 3 end?

At the heart of The Tailor Season 3, as with both previous seasons, is the torrid affair between Peyami and Esvet, which is complicated by Esvet’s psychotic ex, Dimitri.

Dimitri realizes that the couple is back together and takes some very dramatic steps to intervene. He arranges a dinner for the three of them, in an old warehouse, and declares he is aware of the affair, with Ari telling him of it before his death. Dimitri is completely distraught by the situation and has rigged the warehouse to explode. Peyami and Esvet try to reason with Dimitri, reminding him of their happy times together when they were younger, resulting in Dimitri acknowledging that the couple is truly in love, allowing them to escape and leaving himself to die in the explosion.

When Esvet and Peyami visit a favorite childhood location of Dimitri’s, they discover a letter that reveals details about Esvet’s past and ultimately forgives Peyami for his betrayal of Dimitri. The couple move to a farmhouse that Peyami lived in as a child and attempt to start a new life together. However, it is hinted that Dimitri may not be dead, and in the closing moments of the final episode, Dimitri, now badly injured and burned, is seen watching his ex-wife and best friend from a distance.

What could Season 4 of The Tailor be about?

The chilling final scenes do imply that despite the drama of the Season 3 finale, Dimitri just cannot let go of the situation, and somehow managed to survive the explosion, faked his death, and is ready to continue his torment of Peyami and Esvet. If the show is renewed, expect even more deranged behavior from Dimitri, now scarred and even more emotionally damaged than before.

Given that the narrative could have quite easily been brought to a conclusion here with Dimitri dying and the show ending with a bright future ahead for Peyami and Esvet, the fact is didn’t end that way very strongly implies that another season is on the cards in the near-future. However, with so many secrets already having been revealed through three seasons, one does have to wonder how much longer the series can continue before producing diminishing returns.
