Summary

A perfect way to wrap up Dr. Stone Season 3 while also laying the foundation for Season 4.

With several new goals in mind, Senku and the Perseus crew returned to Ishigami Village, ready to prepare for their next adventure in Dr. Stone Season 3. While getting to the moon won’t be easy, with new allies like Soyuz to help, it doesn’t feel as impossible either. It also helps that knowing that access to unlimited revival fluid has made waking and healing previously petrified characters that much easier, including one of the most unexpected allies of all, The Strongest Primate High Schooler, Tsukasa. After a whirlwind two-course season, the ending brought things home and wrapped up this installment rather nicely.

Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 22 Recap

The episode opens with Senku pointing out that there’s still a chance of reviving Tsukasa, but it won’t work since he was only put on ice and not petrified.

Ryusuui wonders why Senku hasn’t used the device to heal the stab wounds he received from Ibara. Senku suspects that using the Medusa against the entire island may have reduced its power.

Does the revival fluid work on Tsukasa?

Yes, the revival fluid works on Tsukasa. To save Tsukasa, they first have to use the Medusa to petrify him. They manage to get just enough power to do so and then are able to use the revival fluid to bring Tsukasa back.

Upon waking up, Senku informs Tsukasa their next goal is to get to the moon. Tsukasa immediately realizes he’s been woken up to be a bodyguard of sorts.

After pointing out they’ll never be able to heal Senku’s cracks without the Medusa, Gen suggests everyone paints their cracks back on as a form of symbolism.

Considering they’ll need resources from places other than Japan, Senku says they will travel around the world to gather supplies. They begin packing the ship to set sail before winter hits.

Yuzuriha and Kaseki use Senku’s plans to construct a 3-D road map of their future ship and moon voyages. Marked on the map are the cities they plan to establish all over the world while reviving people and gathering supplies.

How does Dr. Stone Season 3 end?

Senku says they will head east first, and Ryusuui offers a cash reward for whoever spots land first, grabbing Tsukasa’s attention. Gen and Minami warn Ryusuui not to be too flashy around Tsukasa, who dislikes the privileged. Ryusuui is convinced that money can still be a powerful resource.

To acquire more alcohol to revive more people, Senku says they must cultivate corn. This means their first destination on their world voyage is the United States of America, where they can grow corn to create more alcohol.

The episode ends with the Perseus setting sail from Ishigami Village and an announcement that season four of Dr. Stone will be airing in October 2024.

Reviving Tsukasa helped the first part of this series come full circle before sending Senku and his friends off to explore the world. It felt like it was tying up the last of the loose ends.

Another thing this finale did well was set up Dr. Stone Season 4. For the first three seasons, a lot of what viewers witnessed was how much prep and planning went into these missions. However, this finale eliminated the need for that next season, which means it should be able to jump right into the action, whether that be on sea or land.

With another season confirmed for 2024, fans can relax knowing their favorite adventure series won’t be gone for long.
