Summary
A predictable turn of events intrigues you enough to hope the back half of the season delivers in ways the first didn’t. “Our Lord” is by far the best of the first four episodes.
Thomas Wade and Da Shi hope Jin will help them bring down the people behind this entire operation in Episode 4 of 3 Body Problem. Although Jack is dead, Wade and Shi plead with Jin to go to the summit to bring down who murdered their friend. A showdown at the summit leads to a shootout and the revealing of who is in charge of the operation in the best installment of Season 1 thus far.
3 Body Problem Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
Will is trying to get a hold of Jack because he was supposed to pick him up from the hospital. Instead, Saul walks in the door to break the news to him that Jack is dead. Da Shi shows the tape of Jack being killed, and Auggie is sure that it was Tatiana who did it. Jin reveals to Thomas and Shi that she was invited to work with the organization. He tells her they can use this to take them down.
Lord (the voice inside the box) tells Evans they are onto him and says he isn’t safe. However, she says he has nothing to worry about because they will protect him. Evans reads the book Little Red Riding Hood to the Lord, but they don’t grasp the story completely. Evans explains it’s not real and a bit of a lie, which the Lord doesn’t like. She says humans are liars and she doesn’t think they can coexist with one another, and she goes silent on Evans.
Who is revealed as the leader at the summit?
Jin arrives at the party and runs into Tatiana, who apologizes for losing her friend. Da Shi recognizes Tatiana’s voice (he met her at the graveyard), but she reveals that the Lord will be here to address everyone. Moments later, it is announced that Dr. Ye Wenjie is the leader of the group.
How long will it take for the San-ti to arrive on Earth?
Dr. Wenjie announces that she saw her country torn into shambles and that her family was destroyed in the name of progress. She says that the San-ti is coming to share their knowledge, to teach them how to survive and thrive. She says it will take them 400 years to get here, and they must prepare their future to welcome them when they arrive.
In the middle of her speech, the police storm into the facility and order everyone to get down. Dr. Wenjie speaks up, saying to follow orders, as their Lord will protect them. Tatiana sees one of the men grabbing Jin to get her out of Dodge, pulls out her gun, and begins shooting. It leads to a massive shootout amongst the group. Da Shi saves Jin’s life by shooting Tatiana in the legs and getting her out.
How does 3 Body Problem Season 1 Episode 4 end?
During her ambulance ride to the hospital, Will calls Jin to discuss how they should get out of Dodge. Jin interrupts, saying she must tell him a story about what is happening. This leads to a montage of 1984 when Mike Evans and Dr. Wenjie boarded their new headquarters on a ship. Evans revealed that the people (San-ti) have been trying to contact her since she first made contact.
In the present day, Thomas Wade is sitting down to talk to Dr. Wenjie, asking her what judgment day is. She tells him they are coming, and he can do nothing to stop them.
