An explosive episode of Tokyo Vice saw the power shift across the entire city with gangs turning upside down and a massive shift within the police department. With two episodes of Season 2 remaining, there are many unanswered questions to be answered in Episode 9 and beyond.

What will Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 9 Synopsis

With Hayama a thing of the past, Sato considers the future of the Chihara-kai. Detective Katagiri and Jake are inching closer to exposing the truth about Tozawa.

Will Sato take over the Chihara-kai?

This is where things could get ugly for Sato. Even after killing Hayama, Tozawa formed a dominant presence, and many yakuza bowed down to him. Because of the turmoil within the Chihara-kai, I expect to see many of the group members switch to become Tozawa’s gang members.

That said, I expect Sato to continue to go after Tozawa for his killing of Ishida. How he does it will be interesting because we know he has ties to Jake, who has ties to the police. Could we be in line for a team-up? It should get interesting.

Will Jake push forward even with the threat from Tozawa?

Tozawa’s right-hand man met with Jake and informed him that if they didn’t stop investigating the story, he would visit his family before hunting him down and taking him out. Now, Detective Katagiri told Jake that Tozawa is scared and he needs to keep pushing.

Throughout almost two seasons, we’ve seen Jake not be afraid of pushing boundaries, even in life-or-death situations. I don’t expect Jake to let up now, and I expect him to go even further in his attempt to take down Tozawa. He knows that Tozawa has some sort of involvement in Polina’s death and has been seeking justice for her. Also, he is trying to take his relationship with Misaki to the next level, with Tozawa out of the picture.

Will Detective Katagiri get Funaki to flip on Tozawa?

Detective Katagiri reeled Funaki, Tozawa’s right-hand man, into a bait and switch and had him locked up for the shooting because his fingerprints were on the murder weapon. This should send Tozawa into a little bit of a panic because Funaki knows everything. However, I don’t expect Funaki to flip at all and for him to stay completely loyal to Tozawa.

Who is directing “Consequences”?

After Eva Sorhaug stepped in to direct Episode 8, Josef Kubota Wladyka, who directed Episode 3 and Episode 4, is back in the director’s chair for “Consequences”. Wladyka also directed four episodes in Season 1 (Eps. 2, 3, 6, and 7). You can also check out his work on the popular Netflix shows One Piece, Narcos, and Narcos: Mexico
