Ahead of Episode 13 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch‘s third and final season, I find myself in the awkward position of repeating predictions I made earlier in Season 3 that I still think will come about but haven’t happened yet. Sorry about that.
But there are still several lingering matters to be explored in “Into the Breach” and beyond, and with only three episodes left in the season, they’ve got to be addressed sooner rather than later, right?
We can only hope.
The Bad Batch Will Finally Find Mount Tantiss
The next episode is titled “Into the Breach”. What else could it mean?
In Episode 12, “Juggernaut”, Crosshair revealed that old enemy Admiral Rampart knew the coordinates to Mount Tantiss, and the bulk of the half-hour comprised a rescue mission to pull him from an Imperial Labour Camp on Erebus so that he’d give up the information. As it turned out, though, nobody knows the coordinates to Tantiss.
However, Rampart knows a way to circumvent this particular problem. I expect him to reveal this Clone Force 99 in the next episode.
Omega and Emerie Will Work Together to Free the Test Subjects From the Vault

As teased in Episode 10, “Identity Crisis”, Emerie is slowly but surely becoming disillusioned with the Empire’s activities. Now that Omega is back on Mount Tantiss, I fully expect Emerie to turn to the Light Side and help Omega not just to escape, to spring the other test subjects from the vault.
Omega’s adamancy on freeing the subjects with probably complicate the Bad Batch’s efforts to rescue her (you know what she’s like.) This is likely to create a scenario in which some kind of heroic self-sacrifice needs to take place. Speaking of which…
There Will Be A Heroic Self-Sacrifice

For a final season, The Bad Batch has been suspiciously light on major character deaths, and I bet we’ve got one coming. The two likeliest candidates are Nala Se, who must have been kept alive for some reason, and Crosshair, whose arc this season has been about realizing there are more important things than himself.
You never know — both characters could die to really up the stakes heading into the final two episodes. There’s also an outside chance that Emerie could fulfill this role in order to enable Omega’s escape, which is actually kind of likely since I’m not sure what utility she would have in the final two episodes if she managed to escape.

Episode 13 of The Bad Batch Season 3 will air exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. The episode will be titled “Into the Breach” and should have a runtime of roughly 25-30 minutes.
