WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

As I stated in my review of Baby Fever Season 2, Nana is not a redeemable character by any stretch of the imagination, and the ending confirms that. Episode 6, which is irrelevantly described as “How Is Mom Life Treating You?“, compounds Nana’s personality issues, which hurt other people.

The episode starts positively for Nana: she remembers the night before when she slept with Mathias. She seems unphased that he had cheated on his girlfriend with her. It doesn’t even appear that it crosses her mind.

At least one of the characters is willing to confront Nana’s bewildering personality, and that’s Hampus, who has been announced as the fertility clinic’s new business partner. He tries to bury the hatchet with Nana and points out that she lies regularly to her clients. Nana predictably argues against this and says she relates on their level.

Whether she truly believes that is up for debate. Maybe Nana believes in her own lies at this point.

Lucia Discovers the Truth and Nana’s Delusion Worsens

However, things take a sour turn when Lucia, Mathias’ girlfriend, turns up at Nana’s apartment. Being the good girlfriend she is, she wants to connect with Nana because she has a baby with Mathias.

This is incredible because Lucia shows Nana grace despite committing an extremely illegal crime on her boyfriend.

However, Lucia sees Mathias’ boxers in Nana’s bed. It does not take long for Lucia to figure out that her boyfriend cheated on her with Nana.

Strangely, this is followed up by a scene that makes me believe Nana could be delusional. She tells her team in the office why the company benefits from lying to its clients and concludes that she thinks the truth hurts.

I could only interpret this scene as Nana justifying her actions.

Of course, the consequences arrive eventually. Lucia tells Mathias she will not forgive him for cheating on her, so Nana takes advantage and invites him for a drink. Now, Nana’s desperation shows — she asks Mathias to choose her. However, it’s clear that he is struggling to process what happened.

Nana Tells Lucia About Her Pregnancy

The next day, Lucia turns up at the apartment, and Mathias is adamant that nothing happened between them this time. Lucia chooses to speak to Mathias alone—she’s leaving the country and breaking up with him.

Finally understanding that her actions are destroying lives, Nana tells Mathias they need to stop Lucia at the airport.

And they do. At this moment, Nana drops the bombshell on Lucia; she tells her she’s pregnant, and that she’s known since she gave her a scan at the clinic, but she chose not to tell her: she believes she is 7 weeks pregnant.

Conception does the weirdest thing to adults, and all is suddenly forgotten as Lucia and Mathias embrace each other. Nana walks away, but Mathias chases after her, tells her he loves her, and insists he still wants to be a family.

I have no idea how, at this point, how Mathias or Lucia can take Nana seriously. She’s committed an incredible crime against Mathias, and she’s concealed a pregnancy so she can win him over and destroy his relationship with Lucia.

Nana did not care about Lucia. In two seasons, she only cared about having Mathias and his DNA. And she’s proven she will do anything to get that.

Nana’s Potential Redemption for Season 3?

However, Season 2 ends with some slight hope that we may get answers about Nana’s personality in Season 3 if Netflix decides there is one. Nana visits her birth father at the food truck with her baby, who she has now named Margarete. This time, she reveals to him that she is his daughter.

As I stated in my review, it’s highly probable that Nana has had a massive gap in her life—a father whom I feel the writers are using to justify her actions.

This could be her redemption story arc. Time will tell.
