Ladies and gentlemen – it’s time for the bachelor and bachelorette parties! And we all know what that means; you’re in for an episode full of fun, drama, and sexiness, a bucket full of each.
If we’re keeping it real, this episode has very little to recap regarding the BIG storylines.
Virgin River Season 6, Episode 4 begins with the Bride and Groom getting ready for their WILD nights out. At the surface level, this looks like fun and games, but realistically, we are foreshadowed by a later side story that we will dive deeper into at the end of this article.
THE BACHELOR PARTY
Expectedly, the boys’ drama doesn’t start until later in the party. The boys start their celebration with some good old-fashioned paintballing. It is an opportunity for them to tap into their masculinity and marine days in a fun way!
Unfortunately, they are met with a sad truth: They were Marine men, but now they are older men. So when they are faced with a group of youths, the struggle is real for them. But it’s still fun. They get an A for enthusiasm and effort!
Now, the drama. Question: what happens when you put two men together in the same room, with alcohol, who have dated the same woman? Tensions expectedly build higher and higher, and then BOOM… there’s an explosion of testosterone running through their veins.
So, yes, it does explode and turns into who has the biggest dick-measuring competition. A scrap breaks out, but boringly (though understandably), Jack has to break it up!
However, Jack does give a meaningful speech to the group, which allows the men to reconnect as brothers.
And how else do men solidify the reconnection of a brotherhood? With some American Football. Jack invites Ricky along and welcomes him into their group.
THE BACHELORETTE PARTY
Expectedly, the ladies have their first lots of drinks flowing, and then the drama starts immediately (what is it with us ladies not being able to handle our Mimosas?)
Mel explains to Joey (her sister) that Brie is the Maid of Honor and she is the Matron of Honor, and that clearly burns within her. Joey feels pushed aside and unimportant to her sister. And let’s not forget, Joey feels some way about Mel having a dad different from her now, too.
I have asked myself multiple times whether Mel is autistic, given the complete non-realization of the feelings of those around her. Or maybe it’s how brides get.
Later, at the bachelorette party, we were met with a vast question: Brie, the little minx, sneaks away to make a drunken phone call, and we suspect it’ll be to Mike, right?
WRONG – it’s Brady. She tells him she just wanted to hear his voice and can’t stop thinking of him.
Now remember at the start of this article, I told you of a little foreshadowing, let’s see if you caught it too. Kaia and Brie have planned a Hunky Hank’s Stripper, but they can’t get a Marine, so Kaia asks Brie, do we get a Firefighter? (AKA Brady) or Cop? (AKA Mike).
Brie chose the Cop! But my spidey senses told me there is more importance to this than meets the eye.
Let’s watch this space.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves… The most important part of the bachelorette party is the spicy-spicy ending. The ladies end up missing out on Hunk Hanks’s stripper. However, he still arrives at Jack’s bar, and who just so happens to be there is the sewing circle and Muriel. They enjoy the show, those naughty ladies.
Nonetheless, Mel misses out on her stripper, and you’d think that would be a sad thing, but she is gifted with an even better surprise.
As she returns home to her soon-to-be husband, they get intimate, giving a romantic end to the chapter.
The chemistry between Mel and Jack is almost unmatched.
