WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

With the bachelor and bachelorette parties in the rearview mirror, it’s time to focus on what’s now in front of us: another thrilling episode with unexpected twists and dramas.

Preacher embarks on his community service, Jack and Mel’s Dads meet, Virgin River is holding a Drive-In movie night—the movie is Love Story—and much, much more.

MEL AND EVERETT

After a lifetime of talking about doing so, Mel finally asks Everett if he will walk her down the aisle. Everett responds, thrilled and overjoyed, understandably. But sadly, this doesn’t last. After meeting with Jack and his Dad, Everett gets overwhelmed and shuts down.

Everett tells Mel that this is all just too much for him. Mel has thrown him straight into being The Father of The Bride instead of just being a Dad first.

BRADY AND BRIE

It’s the morning after the bachelor and bachelorette party, and Brady calls Brie back. They decide to move on from the voicemail and carry on with their lives as normal, something that seems upsetting for them both. But that’s living in denial for you, I suppose.

So, as they both move forward with their lives, Brie catches Lark in the correctional facility, talking to Jimmy (it’s about bleeding time she gets caught). What other choice does Brie have but to head to Jack’s bar and inform Brady? The conversation gets heated due to the tension and passion these two have always had.

Brady yells at Brie to get out and angrily kicks a chair. The tension is rising, and the veins are popping. Brie hesitates to leave. Brady gives in and asks Brie about what she saw, knowing she was being honest with him. She’s the only one he trusts and relies on; it’s obvious. And then it clicks—Brady pieces together that Lark was using him this entire time.

“The only reason I know anything about love is because of you,” Brady tells Brie. And the intimacy begins after a BANGING line like that.

Again, Brie and Brady have phenomenal chemistry in Virgin River. The fireworks are exploding! But wait just a moment. What’s that in the next scene?

Lark tells Jimmy that it’s over and that Brie loves Brady. WHOOPS. If you asked me, I’d say it was too little, too late, but who am I to comment?

LOVE STORY

As we approach the end of Season 6, Episode 5, we experience a beautiful, heartwarming scene of the characters in Virgin River who are in love, cuddling up while watching Love Story at the drive-in cinema.

All the women are getting emotional, and the men are being their amazing comforts.

DOC AND EVERETT

To conclude the episode, Everett is searching for Mel at the Drive-In, regretful of what he told her earlier. But he runs into the last person he wants to see: Doc.

Doc interrogates him. “When are you going to tell her the truth about what kind of man you are?” he exclaims! Everett rebuts and tells Doc, “You don’t know what kind of man I am!”

“I’ll tell you what I do know. Because of you… a boy is dead.”

The perfect finisher.

Can Everett come back after Doc reveals this?
