Summary
Weak Hero Class 2 once again puts character first in Episode 7, setting up a finale that should be a real blockbuster.
The battle lines are drawn, folks. It’ll be Eunjang versus the Union in the season finale of Weak Hero Class 2. But we’re not quite there yet. Episode 7 has all of this to set up in another slower, character-focused chapter reminiscent of Episode 5. All those minor conflicts and plot points? They’re dealt with here. What remains is just the inevitable all-out brawl, which at this point we deserve.
Interestingly, Si-eun is sidelined for almost the entirety of this penultimate episode, having been hit — though only softly — by that truck at the end of the previous episode. That leaves Hyun-tak, Baku, and Jun-tae to get everything squared away, which includes recruiting the entirety of Eunjang to their cause.
We do get some scenes of Si-eun, though. While he’s languishing in intensive care, his comatose mind imagines a conversation with Beom-seok, which is another stage in him coming to terms with what happened in Season 1. It’s a nice callback and a meaningful mile marker on Si-eun’s personal journey that should allow him to fully embrace his new friends and their important fight. And just in time for the finale!
Anyway, picking up from where we left off, Hyun-tak and Jun-tae are able to slip away from their pursuers, but only for a moment. Luckily, Baku arrives in the nick of time to save the day, though he does admittedly almost kill someone in the process. He’s very close to the edge, but when Jun-tae gets the call about Si-eun, that proves enough of a distraction to stop him from committing murder. For now, anyway. It does give him something else to blame himself for, though.
In the meantime, there’s the matter of the buyers’ list that Jun-tae stole from Daesung Motorcycle. He tries to shop it to the police, but they can’t do anything with it, and on his way out, he’s caught by Union goons. Despite being tortured and interrogated, Jun-tae refuses to give up the location of the photo he took of the list, showing true spirit. Enough spirit, weirdly enough, to impress even Seong-je. He wakes up from a nap while the beating is going on and decides to protect Jun-tae and summon Baku and Hyun-tak to pick him up. It remains unclear for now where his loyalties are.
This might become relevant in the finale, though, as there’s a big battle coming up. In Weak Hero Class 2, Episode 7, Baku goes to Yeoil High with a megaphone and challenges Baek-jin to a fight — Eunjang versus the Union, and if Eunjang wins, the Union must be disbanded. It’s hard to see how Baek-jin would be able to facilitate this, given he’s very much answerable to an increasingly annoyed CEO Choi, but his personal issues with Baku are such that he can’t turn down the challenge.
And this is more or less where we leave things. Si-eun wakes up, of course, and since his mother had already explained to Baku that he was barely hit by the truck and his body was just taking the opportunity to rest, it isn’t too much of a stretch to believe he’d be ready for action moments after being discharged. He also visits Su-ho on his way out, finally embracing that it’s okay to have friends and to enjoy his life. But he’s going to have to fight for it first.
