Nicole Ackman

Nicole Ackman joined Ready Steady Cut in June 2022 as a Film Critic. Nicole is a writer and historian based in Raleigh, North Carolina, with vast experience in entertainment journalism and museums. Her knowledge of films has been noticed, and she was approved as a certified critic with Rotten Tomatoes in 2022.

In addition to writing for Ready Steady Cut, Nicole has contributed to Culture Cabinet, AwardsWatch, and FF2 Media, providing expert reviews of movies in all genres.

Nicole also fancies herself as a Book Critic, providing her favorite choices on the Book of the Month website.

As a historian, Nicole runs her own Substack called “A Historian in the Public Sphere,” which discusses everything history-related, from real historical sites to fictional matters. She also co-hosts a podcast called Petticoats & Poppies, delving into period dramas from the perspective of women.
