My worry for Chad Powers is that it's a better, smarter show than its humour sometimes suggests.

Sometimes, Brilliant Minds only has a so-so case of the week to justify focusing primarily on the characters and their interpersonal drama -- see, for example, the Season 2 premiere.

Despite a very cool opening shoot-out, Jesse laying the smack down on a bar full of people, and Billy getting his bloody revenge on Miguel all in the span of Episode 2, “Two Shots”, I still find myself oddly uninterested in Billy the Kid Season 3.

If there’s a better show in 2025 than Task, I’d be interested to see it. You can always rely on HBO to just ride into town and drop extremely high-quality prestige TV on a semi-regular basis, to an extent that it almost feels unfair to other networks and platforms.

Sorry, but what is going on here? The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returned for Season 3 with seemingly no idea what it was doing, and then it just got inexplicably good without warning, and continues that trend in Episode 5, “Limbo”.

I’m getting a bit sick of Tyson. To be fair, I was sick of him throughout most of Tulsa King’s second season, too, but I thought he might have learned his lesson in time for Season 3.

You can tell we’re getting to the end of The Rainmaker now, since there’s a real fist-pump quality to Episode 8 as the tables finally begin to meaningfully turn.

Invasion never does itself any favours, does it? After finally injecting some pace into Season 3 with the reveal that Infinitas were really an alien-worshipping death cult, it pumped the brakes immediately for an explanatory flashback episode nobody wanted.

It might have taken ages for Peacemaker Season 2 to finally get good, but now that the ball’s rolling, it has quickly generated enough speed to carry right through into the finale.

You can’t keep a good Supe down, or so the saying that I’ve just made up goes, and it’s similarly difficult to keep them locked up, too.

As predicted, High Potential Season 2 is losing a bit of steam after wrapping up the Game Maker storyline so quickly.
