I can’t help but feel that Beyond the Bar is flying under the radar a bit.

It wouldn't be fair to claim that The Winning Try has been unserious to this point, because it had me pretty much sobbing already, but it definitely hasn't been as serious as it is in Episode 6.

While it's ostensibly a show about rugby, The Winning Try is really a show about people. And this is becoming more and more obvious as we progress, with Episode 5 being perhaps the best example of it.

Dexter has always been about death in one way or another, but its spectre is felt more acutely than ever in Episode 6 of Dexter: Resurrection, and not just in the usual sense.

There are very few shows that start as badly as Smoke did, only to end up being quite this good.

Beyond the Bar makes a better case for itself in Episode 2, which is kind of fitting when you think about it.

Well, we finally know what the black smoke belching out of the Back Half chimneys is coming from.

The opening episode of Beyond the Bar is fittingly titled, since it really is an induction; yes, for protagonist Kang Hyo-min, who gets a job at the prestigious Yullim law firm, but also for the audience, who're being welcomed into another legal K-Drama with its own particular quirks and characteristics.

The Winning Try doesn't have much rugby in it, which is surprising for a show ostensibly about the sport, so it says a lot about the underlying quality of this K-Drama that I'm starting to wonder whether it even needs it.

The Winning Try never ceases to amaze me. After the premiere suggested we had a great show on our hands, and the second episode proved that quality...
