Summary

The King: Eternal Monarch season 1, episode 3 sees Lee Gon trying to convince Tae-eul that he’s from another world but she’s still insisting he is somebody else.

How does The King: Eternal Monarch season 1, episode 3 begin?

It returns to the proposal scene. Lee Gon admits to Tae-eul that he is powerless here but he thinks she is amazing.

He tries to prove to her about the portal so takes her to the forest to try and show the portal door but he cannot find it. He cannot convince Tae-eul his story at all and she tells him to stop being nosey about her life.

What about back in Corea?

In his homeworld, there is speculation that Lee Gon has gone missing. His team discusses what to do next. A new woman in the team asks Jo Yeong for his phone and checks out his camera roll. She picks out a photo of Jo Yeong and Lee Gon to put on social media to ease speculation.

Does Tae-eul get a positive ID for Lee Gon?

No, which baffles her even more. She then gets a call about the horse and they tell her it’s an extremely rare breed and they wonder how she has got one in Korea.

She meets Lee Gon to talk and drinks a lot of alcohol. Lee Gon tells Tae-eul he can only tell her specifics if she becomes part of the royal court. He tries explaining the parallel worlds again and assumes she has no DNA results.

Lee Gon tells Tae-eul that he hopes she believes him soon.

Is Tae-eul starting to believe Lee Gon?

Possibly as she’s starting to soften. The King: Eternal Monarch season 1, episode 3 sees her ring the Taekwondo academy for her father but Lee Gon answers. She explains that her car has stopped working and needs someone to watch it while she goes to the service station. Lee Gon gives her car advice on the phone before heading over to watch the car. When he meets her, the world suddenly pauses, apart from Lee Gon and then the world moves again.

Lee Gon tries telling Tae-eul what happened and that it might be a side effect of the door. He also tries calling her beautiful but she dismisses him.

Lee Gon heads to the forest again and realizes that having half of the Manpasikjeok is the key and the lock to the portal and Lee Lim has the other half.

What about the murder investigation that Tae-eul is leading on?

Tae-eul’s team believe that they have solved the murder from the forensics team after the newbie on the team found a weapon. Tae-eul raises that Kim Bok-man strongly denies it but the team states there is a clear motive. Tae-eul feels that someone planned all this.

As we near the end, Sin-jae’s past catches up to him as a man who he put in prison approaches him with his gang — Tae-eul puts her hair up, ready to fight and then Lee Gon turns up. Lee Gon watches as they fight and then he takes all the men on, showing his fighting skills. All three of them go to eat after and there is a strange tension between Sin-jae and Lee Gon.

How does The King: Eternal Monarch season 1, episode 3 end?

Lee Gon tells Tae-eul he does not want to leave but he will.

Lee Gon heads into the forest and does not look like he wants to leave with hints that he is in love with Tae-eul. Lee Gon goes through the portal on his horse.

Will she believe him now that he will be suddenly missing?
