Now that Victor is “out,” he’s receiving many opinions and questions at school. He didn’t think it would cause so many strangers to talk to him. At the start of the episode, the basketball coach has a word with Victor — he wants Victor to feel comfortable and safe and asks if he wants to change in a different changing room. The coach has received some complaints.

This is a blow to Victor, who was initially feeling confident about “coming out.”

Victor confronts Andrew about the changing room complaint

Victor tells his friends about the changing room issue, and he’s downbeat about it. Then, he speaks to Andrew about it, but the team captain says he didn’t complain, but he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to reveal who did. Andrew advises that he should turn up and dominate and prove to those who have complained that they were stupid. At basketball training, Victor performs well.

In the changing room, some of the players whisper about Victor not having his room changed. But, unfortunately, this isn’t a situation that’s going to change quickly.

We feel sorry for Victor; this is completely unnecessary and homophobic and highlights how educational establishments can let students down.

Felix opens up to Lake

Lake gets agitated with Felix as he’s prioritizing making money than going out with her. Finally, Felix tells her that he needs the money and tells her the truth about his mother. He reveals that he and his mother are financially stricken. Lake decides to help him rather than go to the party.

This was a significant moment for the couple; Lake showed she’s progressed as a character — she supported Felix rather than heading to the party.

Support group

Victor’s father Armando attends a support group for parents for children who have “come out.” He goes out with another father at the group for drinks — he’s concerned that he will hurt Victor, and he’s struggling to adjust. The man tells him there are many ways that you can be a man.

Benji isn’t surprised

Victor talks to Benji about his experiences in the basketball team. Benji says he isn’t surprised because “coming out” isn’t easy as he had similar experiences. Then, suddenly, Benji gets a text from Derek about Mia.

Victor goes to get Mia

Victor heads to the college party to find Mia as he’s worried about her. He tells Mia that she should go home; she’s very drunk and throws up.

When Mia gets home, she learns that Tyler finally arrived at the party, so she’s disappointed. She asks Victor if he knew he was gay the whole time they dated. Victor explains he was confused because he enjoyed being around her. Mia says it sucks because she feels she can’t be mad at him — she wants him to be happy because she loves him. She feels like she lost a best friend. Victor tells her he loves her too.

Both characters have reached an understanding with each other which is heartwarming to see in episode 3.

Pilar wants to spend time with Felix

Pilar tells Felix that if he ever wants to hang out, he can ask. Later on, after Lake helps him, Felix gives Pilar her money back and thanks her. However, she seems disappointed that he didn’t want to hang out. Is a love triangle brewing?
