At the start of episode 8, Ben and Aneesa are hooking up. Devi tells Aneesa that she’s good with their relationship as she’s trying a maturer approach. As she walks off, she kicks a bin in anger. Oh, Devi, you do make us laugh! Teenage frustrations are funny.
School project
Later on, Devi, Ben, and Aneesa group together to discuss a law project based on The Great Gatsby. They assign Devi as “Daisy Buchanan.” The next day, Devi asks Mr. K if she can move to another group. Mr. K tells Devi that proximity “makes the heart barf.” He thinks she should remind herself what annoys her about Ben.
Malcolm may be cheating
There’s potential trouble ahead, but this time it’s not Devi; it’s Eleanor!
After seeing texts, Fabiola and Devi tell Eleanor that Malcolm is cheating on her with a girl called Isabella. They tell her she deserves better. Later on, Eleanor tells Fabiola and Devi that Malcolm was texting his 73-year old agent. Eleanor gets mean to her friends and chooses Malcolm over them.

I was a bad girlfriend
Ben asks Devi if it’s been weird for her to work with him and Aneesa. Devi tells Ben that he deserves someone super cool and admits to being a bad girlfriend. Some signs of maturity here from Devi; admitting she was in the wrong.
The court session is open
So it’s prosecution versus defense in class based on The Great Gatsby. Ben is the lawyer that defends Daisy. Paxton is the lead prosecutor. Devi plays Daisy Buchanan. On the defense team, Aneesa fluffs her lines that don’t go down well. Due to that, the defense team lost, and Ben is irritated and tries not to look mad at Aneesa.
The ending of Never Have I Ever season 2, episode 8
After Eleanor’s outburst, Devi walks home crying. Paxton offers her a ride home. As they drive, Paxton wonders if he’s dumb. Devi tells Paxton that he needs to go above and beyond. As he drops her off, Devi states she’s a changed woman. Suddenly, Devi looks at the car outside her house and realizes her mother is on a date. Does this teenager get a break!
