Summary
The first main arc of season 3 seems to be over, at least for now. But with both Joe and Love beginning to find sparks with other people, is it only a matter of time before their marriage collapses?

You season 3, episode 4 recap
Following Love’s attack on Gil, Joe perceives it to be growth on Love’s part as Gil isn’t dead but instead just confined to the Box. Joe speaks to Gil and considers releasing him from the Box, but as he believes Gil will go to the police, he decides that Gil must stay in the box.
Sherry visits Love in the bakery and plants an image of Natalie on the wall. Love isn’t too pleased. Now Love has the face of the woman she just murdered watching her. Joe stalks Gil’s online presence, who on paper is the perfect man, whilst Love watches Theo argue with Matthew.
After Love does some digging in Gil’s past, it leads to the revelation that his son Alan is a violent man who attacks young girls. Gil had been aware of one attack but thought it wouldn’t have continued. Joe plans to use the information to have Gil move away from Madre Linda. But before that plan can be set in motion, Gil hangs himself.
The community search for Natalie begins, but Love has an idea. She will plant evidence and set Gil up for Natalie’s murder. Will it work? Whilst on the search, Theo overhears Sherry’s gossiping and calls her out on her behaviour. It’s left to Love to calm Theo down and get him away from Sherry.
The ending
Meanwhile, Joe sets up Gil’s suicide with a note that claims Gil was having an affair with Natalie, murdered her and threw her body in the ocean. Following the community search, Theo and Love bond and share a short kiss. They’re interrupted when Theo learns that a murder weapon has just been found.
“Hands Across Madre Linda” concludes with Love receiving flowers from Sherry whilst Joe finds the next person he wants to stalk, Marieanne, from the library.
