You season 3, episode 6 recap

Whilst inside Marienne’s flat, Joe ponders whether to fix her leaking tap before reminding himself that he is only there for stalking reasons. But suddenly, she returns home early, maybe to get ready for a date? Back home, Love ignores Theo’s text messages as she gets out a pregnancy test! She then begins messaging Forty her deepest thoughts, that is until Theo stands outside her house blasting out music. As he saw it work in the movies, he thought it would work for Love.

With their minds elsewhere, when Joe and Love have sex, Joe pictures Marienne whilst Love pictures Theo. Not believing that Gil was responsible for Natalie’s death, Matthew works with Jean (played by Desperate Housewives legend Marcia Cross!) as he tries to investigate everyone on the street, with Matthew and Jean’s suspicions fallings on Love.

During a W.O.M.B summit, Dottie befriends Sherry (of course she does, according to Love). When an author gives a Q&A, Love pushes for an answer, but in the end, insults the author and storms out. It only gets worse for Love as during an IGTV, Dottie reveals that Love may be pregnant. Elsewhere, Joe continues stalking Marienne, where he discovers that she attends recovery meetings and has been on trial for child endangerment. Not as sweet as she looks, it would seem.

After Theo brings up dinner to Matthew, he goes into his office and finds he has fallen asleep at his desk. When Theo has a quick nosey, he discovers that Matthew is investigating everyone on the street. Whilst clearly wasted, Love runs herself a bath and messages Forty again. He then “replies” before Forty (James Scully) appears in the bathtub, and they have a conversation. She’s not pregnant (which is good considering how drunk she is), and Forty claims that she isn’t happy as Joe isn’t her soulmate; he is. “You were the strong one, and you always knew it would turn out this way. That’s why you held me so tight,” Forty says before he sings “I’ll Be There” as Love falls asleep.

Following a leak at the library, Joe comes to Marienne’s aid. Marianne reveals that she and her ex, Ryan (Scott Michael Foster), were former addicts. But as Ryan got clean first, and she sailed through a red light, resulting in a car crash that whilst Juliette wasn’t in the car at the time, still got classed as child endangerment. Therefore, Ryan has had full custody of Juliette. But Marienne hopes to change that and met with a lawyer the night before. (Not a date like Joe had originally thought). As the sprinkles go off, Joe and Marienne kiss.

The ending

Love realizes that she must let go of Forty, just as Theo comes around. It turns out that she sent a drunk text to Theo the night before, which gives his ego a little boost. But Love is more alarmed when Theo tells her that Matthew is investigating the neighbors.

Although Marienne tries to call off the affair with Joe, they still end up kissing. But first, Joe must decide what to do with Love first. Joe believes that if she learned about the affair, she would most likely kill Marienne. (To be honest, that does sound like something Love would do). But first, Love tells Joe about Theo’s discovery, before making the decision that Love will use Theo’s crush on her to their advantage.
