This week’s episodes of Our Beloved Summer were all about Ung and Yeon-su beginning to navigate their new relationship. Of course, they have done this dance many times before, but now they’re both older and presumably wiser, so they’re determined that things are going to be different. And they might be right! But those around them, not to mention circumstances in general, might well conspire to test their connection in Our Beloved Summer season 1, episodes 15 and 16, both of which will bring the series to a close next week. Here’s a quote from our latest recap:
It seems very much like they’re going to need each other too, since Our Beloved Summer once again delivers a few closing blows before it departs. Yeon-su, for instance, discovers that her grandmother is looking at retirement homes to move into, and the next morning tries to essentially force her to stay in what is a crushing scene overall. Ung also seems to be looking at French architecture schools, and Ji-ung’s mother seems to be dying. It’s a triple-threat of terrible news to tide us over until next week’s finale.
Our Beloved Summer season 1, episodes 15 and 16 release date
Our Beloved Summer season 1, episode 15 will be released on Netflix on January 24, 2022, and we don’t anticipate any changes in scheduling. Our Beloved Summer season 1, episode 16 will be released the day after.

Predictions and preview:
With plenty of lingering subplots left unresolved, there is lots that might happen in the final two episodes. Here are some suggestions:
- Why is Yeon-su’s grandma looking at retirement homes? Is she ill? That’s a pretty common k-drama trope, so don’t be surprised if we end up visiting her in hospital or some such.
- Is Ji-ung’s mother really dying soon, or is this another manipulation?
- Are NJ and Ji-ung going to end up together, or are they just in the same boat? Ji-ung is much better suited to Chae-ran, right?
- On that note, Eun-ho and Sol-yi, yes?
