The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window episode 6 recap
After Anna wakes up alone, she believes that the events from the fifth episode of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window were all in her head. But fear not, as when she goes downstairs Rex is there cooking a French omelette. However, there’s a knock at the door, and after Anna opens the door, Detective Lane and several police officers storm in. Once inside, they arrest Rex for Lisa’s murder.
Detective Lane reveals that Rex and Lisa were under investigation for months, with a previous phone call seemingly confirming that Rex is guilty of killing Lisa. Following what she believes to be a near-death experience, Anna decides to move on with her life. She dumps the wine and pills and decides to make some home repairs.
Sloane calls Anna up, despite being right outside, and they go for a mani-pedi. Sloane reveals that a gallery in New York is being opened, and the owners want to meet her as they are considering having her run the place. After Buell gets a nail lodged in her hand, Anna visits Elizabeth’s grave. Whilst there, she bumps into Neil and Emma; they have just attended Lisa’s burial. After Anna and Neil make peace with each other, he invites Anna over for some casserole.
The ending
But the murder mystery isn’t over yet. As a storm sets in, Detective Lane learns that a murder weapon has been found. What is the murder weapon? A palette knife. Detective Lane interrupts Anna as she paints and reveals that Rex has been released as he has an alibi for the night of Lisa’s death. (He was dancing; and, apparently, slayed the dance routine). As Anna’s painting of “the perfect family” seemingly adds motive and faced with little choice, Anna gets taken to the police station. Just as Neil and Emma watch on. Whilst Anna swears she didn’t kill Lisa, she has a flashback to attacking someone/something with a palette knife.
Rex (SexyRexy) is not seen again in The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. This is a great shame, as he was a very likable (albeit dumb) character who was great on screen. But for now, all focus is on Anna. Could she have been the one who murdered Lisa? It could be possible that after a few bottles of wine Anna went insane with jealousy and killed her, right? Absolutely not! Someone must be setting Anna up.
