Inventing Anna season 1 – What happened to the characters after Anna Delvey’s trial?
Anna Delvey:
After being found guilty on eight out of ten charges, Anna got sentenced to four-twelve years in prison. She got released in 2021 but got taken into the custody by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) for overstaying her visa. And she is now in a New Jersey jail as she awaits deportation back to Germany.
Vivian:
Although not a real-life character, Vivian was based largely in part on Jessica Pressler. After she wrote the piece on Anna, an earlier article she had written (The Hustlers at Scores) got made into the 2019 film Hustlers. As for now, she remains a staff writer at New York Magazine.
Todd Spodek:
Despite “losing” the trial, Todd’s image was still positively promoted (as he helped Anna win two of the three “big charges”) and later deemed as the number choice lawyer for fraudsters on trial. Despite Inventing Anna stating that Todd chooses to take some family time after a health scare, Spodek Law Group Criminal Attorneys is still very much up and running, and states that it provides white-glove service to clients who need results.
Rachel DeLoache Williams:
Following the trial, Rachel went on to write a book entitled “My Friend Anna”, and classes herself as a Writer, Photographer, and Creative Producer. She is not a fan of Inventing Anna, deeming it as dubious and running a con woman’s P.R. (Based on how Rachel gets presented in the show, I wouldn’t be a fan if I were Rachel either).
Neff Davis:
The most loyal of Anna’s friends (and the only one to defend Anna). Even today, she remains friends with Anna. On Instagram, Neff posted a birthday message to Anna referring to her as “the Thelma to my Louise”.
Kacy Duke
After wanting to place a distance between herself and all those involved with the drama that surrounded Anna Delvey, Kacy remains a “Celebrity Fitness Expert”. Unlike Rachel, she appears to be supportive of Inventing Anna and expresses excitement towards its release.
