Servant season 3, episode 6 recap

Episode 6 opens with Sean praying — he’s taking his new religious life seriously. Meanwhile, Leanne is having a nightmare about what happened to her in the park when she was attacked. Fortunately, Dorothy wakes her up from the nightmare because she has slept in until the afternoon.

Bringing some reminders to season 2, Sean is being asked to host the cooking reality competition show that he featured as a guest judge in the previous season. Dorothy thinks this is a huge opportunity, but Sean does not want to do it due to family. Dorothy clearly does not remember that Sean has done a similar gig before. After this, Dorothy tells Leanne that Sean has been going to church and is now a friend with a minister; this piques Leanne’s interest.

Leanne heads out with Dorothy, and she’s freaked out when she sees the homeless people nearby. Flashbacks show her being attacked by what looks like the Cult, and in the present day, she heads back inside. Strangely, one of the homeless men enters the Turner household garden and startles Dorothy. They ask for Leanne, but Dorothy stands firm, insisting that he’s on private property. Feeling curious, Dorothy looks at the CCTV footage of Leanne getting chased through the house and returning moments later, looking shellshocked.

The church minister Nancy comes over, and Leanne sits her at the dinner table, and she is immediately awkwardly with her. Before dinner begins, Dorothy speaks to Leanne privately about the CCTV footage she saw, but Leanne tells her not to worry and assures her that she’s no longer scared but also she’s “just not ready yet.” Unfortunately, for the viewers, she doesn’t clarify what she means.

And so the dinner begins, and it starts awkwardly for Sean. Nancy reveals that she’s vegan as Sean serves the fish dishes. Leanne keeps eyeing her up sternly from across the table. And then, the minister references that she saw Sean on the chef reality TV competition last year, but of course, Dorothy has no recollection of this due to the trauma. Dorothy puts it down to “baby brain.”

And then we experience another flashback; the apparent Cult surrounds Leanne, but then they start sacrificing a few of themselves to death, slashing a few members’ throats. It feels like a ceremony. In the present, Leanne turns on Nancy, calling her rotten inside, which takes the Turners by surprise. As a shocked Nancy starts to leave, Leanne brings up her sins and explains how God will not fix her — she brings up how Nancy has hurt a child. Nancy breaks down in tears, and the dinner is ended abruptly.

The ending

After the dinner, Julian chills with Leanne in the garden, and he wonders how she knew that the minister hurt a child. Leanne shrugs this off and asks Julian to teach her how to smoke marijuana. As she smokes and giggles, the homeless man from earlier enters the garden again and asks her if she’s okay. Weirdly, Leanne says she’s fine, with an air of confidence about her.

As the episode ends, Dorothy watches clips of Sean on TV and is unable to remember this happening. Sean approaches Leanne about what she said to Nancy. Leanne changes the subject and tells Sean that God did not bring back Jericho and that he should take the TV on as “it will be fine.”

Season 3 starts to ramp up as Leanne’s presence becomes more ominous and apparent.
