This is certainly a dramatic episode to put some fire in the story. This romantic series was never going to be plain sailing. The characters are still dealing with their wounds, but tragedy strikes and a looming ominous weather forecast is heading towards them.
Forecasting Love and Weather season 1, episode 11 recap
Episode 11 begins slightly in the future; the weather station learns of an accident. Si-woo has been badly hurt, and when we see him in the hospital, his eyes are completely covered up. But back to the present, Ha-kyung sends Si-woo on an assignment to the Jeju island Typhoon Center. Si-woo clearly shows displeasures but then agrees with a smile. He tells Ha-kyung that he will be leaving on the weekend, but she then gives mixed feelings on it. Si-woo is understandably confused, and he asks for a clear line between them — he makes it known that he is not Ki-jun and that he “wants” to love her. He gives her the option to rethink their relationship. Meanwhile, Ki-jun tells Yu-jin not to leave for a “break,” or it will be over between them. She sticks to her decision and leaves the apartment.
Um Dong-han is happy to see his daughter Bo-mi at work. Later on, Bo-mi has an allergic reaction and collapses n the bathroom. She ends up at the hospital, and the wife berates Um Dong-han for giving their daughter processed meat at the cafeteria. It’s looking like the beginning of the end for this family, but we hope Um Dong-han and his wife can sort out their issues.
Ha-kyung is annoyed at the heatwave articles and tells Ki-jun to help stop the press on this. But Ki-jun cannot focus and tells her about Yu-jin leaving for a “break.” He explains that he has spent too much time comparing Ha-kyung to Yu-jin but now accepts “Yu-jin as Yu-jin.”
The ending
As we approach nearer to the end of the episode, tragedy strikes. Si-woo meets Ha-kyung, and she tells him they should try and make it work. However, the next day, Ha-kyung learns that Si-woo has left for Jeju island, and she’s devastated — she shouldn’t have pushed him away.
And then we go back to where we started in episode 11. Si-woo is in the hospital after an accident on Jeju island — Yu-jin happened to be on Jeju island too, so she’s sobbing next to his hospital bed. Ha-kyung blames Ki-jun for all this — she believes if it weren’t for the wounds he created, she would not have sent Si-woo away, and he would not have gotten hurt. She narrates how she didn’t think she’d be able to handle her feelings. She’s filled with regret.
The episode ends dramatically. At the weather station, they can see an alarming and intense typhoon heading their way. And for some reason, Si-woo’s father looks like he has vengeance on his mind. Is it because his son has been hurt?
Episode 11 ups the stakes as the characters have more pain to endure for their decisions.
