Money Heist loves romances, despite most of the plot being about a massive bank robbery that could go wrong at any minute. But I suppose with all the tension the characters have to go through, it’s no surprise that some of them feel hot and heavy for each other to relieve the tension. If you are aware of the original Money Heist, then some of these romances will not come as a surprise to you. There’s love in the air in season 1, part 1, as the heist heats up.
One of the focal points in season 1 (though touched on lightly) is the friendship between Tokyo and Rio. They seem like very different characters, however, there is a slight chance that they both have an attraction for each other. Rio does appear frustrated with Tokyo at times, so there must be something behind that.
Do Rio and Tokyo get together Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area season 1, part 1?
No, at least not yet. While the original story increases tension with them early on, it feels like a slow burner in the Korean remake.
There is a moment that foreshadows what could happen between them. At one point, Rio tells Tokyo that he’d love to buy an island and spend the rest of his days with a woman he loves. It feels like he was confessing his feelings for Tokyo in this moment, but the series does not strongly hammer it home.
If we are to go by the Spanish series, then Tokyo and Rio will eventually show their feelings for each other, so it is possible that all this transpires in season 1, part 2. But fans will have to wait a lot longer, as there is little to be made in part 1. We are confident something will happen, especially with the series seemingly following in the same footsteps. For instance, The Professor and Seon Woojin have sex in part 1, and so do Denver and Youn Misun.
