The third and apparently final season of Control Z is all about chickens coming home to roost, so to speak, with the gang’s various deceptions and personal secrets all conspiring with their covering up of Susana’s death, which occurred at the end of the second season.

With the stakes higher than ever, then, we reach the final episode, fittingly titled “Graduation”, after having learned in the penultimate episode that it was Bruno who had adopted the @_allyoursecrets_ moniker after Raul reneged on their arrangement to keep him cushty in prison if he simply agreed to take all the blame. Looking for revenge on Raul after being left to fend for himself, he stumbled upon everything to do with Susana’s death.

Bruno, though, is adamant that the scale of this whole endeavor has now escaped him, and that it extends far beyond just him. When Bruno ranted on a forum, he found followers who admired him and recognized themselves in his plight. These followers took it upon themselves to kidnap Raul, and then Sofia when she went looking for him.

Luckily, all Sofia and Raul’s time in escape rooms proves fortuitous, as they’re able to work together to try and escape, taking Guero, who was also captive, along with them. In the meantime, the odd texts Gerry received from Raul’s phone tip him off that something is wrong, and all roads begin to converge.

However, all roads lead, as predicted, to the graduation, where it seems like the truth of what happened to Susana might be revealed. Luckily, Alex is on-hand to stop the video from being played to the masses, but Guero sees it and turns on Raul and Sofia over their involvement. Luckily Gerry and Nat arrive in the nick of time, and Sofia is able to turn Bruno’s followers against him when she discovers that he has been blackmailing them.

Control Z season 3, episode 8 recap

Just in time for graduation, Sofia and the others express their culpability in Susana’s death, and all do community service for it. Time passes. The kids put their past behind them and begin to get on with their lives, with the mystery more or less conclusively solved. While there’s a suggestion that it might really have been Raul behind the blackmail attempting to break up Sofia and Javi, this is left relatively open-ended. The note of ambiguity leaves us something to ponder as the show rides off into the sunset.
