In last week’s episode of Loot, we saw Molly attempt to reunite with her family. Sofia is in a middle of a love triangle and Arthur deep down still wants to be with Molly. We only have two episodes left in the season, let’s dive in.

Loot season 1, episode 9 recap

We open with Nicholas setting up and cleaning up the house, making some coffee, setting up breakfast, and for Molly. Molly is excited because tonight is Nicholas’s big stage premiere and is prepping to go all out, including popping a bottle after the show is over with him.

Sofia lets the team know a big vote is scheduled for the team’s proposal. She says they will vote yes on it and want the entire team to come to the vote to congratulate them on their job well done. Next, Molly has a surprise for them and introduces Jean Pierre. Then, she plays a video of the upcoming Silver Moon Summit and lets everyone know that everyone is coming. Last, she tells everyone that she and Jean Pierre are presenting a brand new water filtration machine that takes dirty water and makes it clean.

Howard overhears Nicholas on the phone talking about an incredible opportunity. So Howard confronts him about it. Nicholas talks back and says he thought they were fighting still, and they have an excellent little banter here. But Nicholas tells him the guy who was going to play the lead at the play dropped out and asked him to fill in. I love these two.

Sofia heads to Molly’s office to confront her about doing too much. She also reminds her that their foundation’s core is based on a specific set of values, and attending the summit isn’t one of those things they typically do. Molly eases her concern and tells her to relax and that everything will work out as planned. I really think this is going to blow up in their faces.

While on the phone with his girlfriend, Howard realizes that Nicholas is struggling with practicing for the play. So Howard heads into the room, still letting him know he is mad at him but wants to know what is going on and how he can help. One last ride and they will go back to being mortal enemies. Can I remind you that I love these two and would watch an entire series or buddy-comedy involving them?

Sofia and Molly are at the board meeting where the housing initiative has been approved in 2026. Molly, confused by the timeline, Sofia tells her it was initially 2028, but they sped it up. They opened the floor for questions when one old lady asked Molly why she gets to decide what happens to their neighborhood because she has money? She WENT OFF on Molly in the most sincere way ever. Arthur lets Molly know that these events always have one of these types of people. However, person after person went to the podium to let Molly have it.

We move back to Howard and Nicholas, who are watching videos on Youtube to try to get him to get emotional. But unfortunately, nothing is working to make Nicholas emotional, from cute dog videos to babies hearing for the first time to soldiers returning home.

Sofia, Arthur, and Molly are leaving the meeting, and Molly is freaking out, trying to figure out what just went down. Molly is ranting about how this wasn’t fair and didn’t deserve any blowback towards her. As they prepare to leave, a group of people throws pies at the trio. HAHAHA, this is amazing.

Howard still struggles to get Nicholas to feel anything at all. So then, we move to Arthur, and Molly is talking about what happened, and she brings up the fact that he was her bodyguard. AWE!!!!! She thanks him for doing what he did. As they are having a little moment, Jean Pierre shows up to rescue Molly. Poor Arthur.

The ending

Nicholas is getting ready for the play, but his confidence is at an all-time low. Howard is trying his best to give him a pep talk, which isn’t working. Howard checks his phone, and he has missed six calls from Tonya. Finally, Howard steps out of the room to call her, and she SNAPS on him. He stops her in her tracks and tells her he is done with her! Go, Howard!

Jean Pierre is cooking Molly a meal and asks her to be careful out in the world. Molly tells him that Sofia wants her to be more in the forefront to show her growth. He tries to break it down to her that people are always going to hate people like them.

As Nicholas sits backstage, Howard walks up and says he has something to tell him. He knows things have been weird the last few weeks, but he knows now that the things Nicholas was trying to say to him about Tonya were all true. Nicholas tries to let him know it is okay, but Howard gives him one amazing speech about how he is good at this and is proud of him. Nicholas grabs him for a big hug (I’m not crying, you are).

We see Molly and Jean Pierre getting onto their private plane, and she gets notified that Nicholas’s play is starting in 30 minutes. Back to the stage where Nicholas is SLAYING it on stage with his BFF Howard in the crowd eating it up. As the play ends, the camera pans out of the audience for us to see Molly’s chair empty. The entire team is backstage telling them how much they loved the play and his performance. A man walks up to Nicholas to hand him a bottle of champagne from Molly, which makes him sad. The episode comes to a close with Molly texting Nicholas that she was proud of him and can’t wait to see him.
