Summary
While it finally starts to feel like we’re getting some answers, it’s still as though we’re no closer to the truth. Even so, it’s still an entertaining episode, although now is the time to start providing the audience with clear answers.

The Resort season 1, episode 6 recap
In Izamal 1986, a young Baltasar writes to a writer and expresses his belief that his book is rubbish; but when that writer responds to Baltasar, his mother is livid. After The Resort cuts to 2022, Emma, Noah, and Luna watch footage of Alex from the phone they found in the previous episode. But Luna starts to lose her patience and decides that she must return to work.
Emma starts to wonder whether Baltasar has other motives for “helping” them. But before Emma and Noah can discuss that theory properly, Baltasar gets in a fight with his brother. To save himself, Baltasar throws his car keys toward Noah, and the three of them drive off. Next, Baltasar, Noah, and Emma pretend to be FBI agents, but the ruse doesn’t work at all. So Emma decides to sneak into the house, but Illan Iberra wakes up and starts chucking things at her. After learning that Illan speaks English, they ask if he knows Sam and Violet, which he does!
Illan reflects back to 2007 when Sam and Violet came knocking at his door. Violet gives Illan a book, but he questions her true reasoning for coming to see him. Violet explains that she is missing one piece of the puzzle, and she doesn’t understand what it means, so Illan gets her to say it. “Huncb fo llub seeth”. When Sam tells Illan to tell them what it means, Illan won’t. Back to the 2022 timeline, Baltasar asks Illan where he took the now missing teenagers. Emma, who appears to be getting frustrated with the lack of progress, tells Illan that he must translate the book.
The ending
But first, they must find a working pen. And that proves to be more trouble than you would expect. Eventually, Baltasar allows him to use his pen. But when Illan notices that it’s a “Frias” pen, he goes berserk. He calls Baltasar a “snake” and stabs Baltasar in his hand with his own pen. Illan tries to throttle Baltasar but has a heart attack and dies as he does so. Later the gang, rejoined by Luna, have a drink at the pool. Emma decides that they try and find the underground place that Sam and Violet were chasing. Noa, on the other hand, doesn’t think so and tells Emma that “you gotta move on”.
In her hotel room, Emma continues to try and do what she can to locate where Sam and Violet went. In flashbacks, we see Illan drop off Sam and Violet before they head down a trail.
