This article is a preview for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, episode 5 and may contain spoilers for previous episodes.

Marvel’s latest small-screen streaming effort, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, is a deviation from the norm in several respects. Following Jennifer Walters, an ace attorney and cousin to Bruce Banner, the new series is a fourth-wall-breaking Ally McBeal-style workplace sitcom with a procedural format. It almost seems deliberately calibrated to annoy the kind of “fans” who would review-bomb the show’s IMDb page and call the heroine a Mary Sue.

The fourth episode was probably the best yet, on balance, managing to be a legal drama, a character piece, a self-contained story, and a part of a wider continuity. Here’s what happened and everything we know about what’s coming:

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, episode 4 recap:

  • Jen’s latest case was representing Wong, who wanted a cease-and-desist order on a low-rent magician named Donny Blaze who, after being expelled from Kamar-taj, was using the Mystic Arts as part of his routine.
  • After failing to win the court over, Jen instead turned her attention to online dating, where she found much more success as She-Hulk.
  • Donny inadvertently opened a portal to a demon realm, causing Wong and Jen to fight off the gooey monstrosities while Wong closed the portal.
  • At the end of the episode — and after her new man left immediately upon seeing her as a non-Hulk — Jen was served papers. Titania is suing her for copyright infringement on the She-Hulk name.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, episode 5 release date:

The fifth episode is slated for release on Thursday, September 8, at 12 am PT, 3 am ET, and 8 am GMT, exclusively on Disney+. While most Disney+ shows have aired on either a Friday or, recently, a Wednesday, She-Hulk will be sticking with Thursdays.

Where to watch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law online

As mentioned above, She-Hulk is exclusive to Disney+, which is available with a subscription.

How many episodes will She-Hulk: Attorney at Law have?

In an unusual move the show is slated for a nine-episode run, however the episode runtimes are lower to account for this, with most seeming to clock in at around the half-hour mark.

Preview and predictions for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1, episode 5:

While there’s no official synopsis available — you know how Disney are with these things — we can at least make some educated guesses.

  • It’s nice to see Titania back after she was so briefly introduced and abandoned. Will subsequent episodes call back to earlier cases as well? Might we see Abomination again?
  • If Jen is on the stand she’ll probably need a lawyer. There’s only one choice for who that could be, right?
