In the first season of Fate: The Winx Saga, one of the most memorable moments comes in the final episode. This is because after Rosalind has already experienced a lot of misery, she kills Dowling after she refuses to take a sabbatical. In killing her, Rosalind rises Dowling to the air and seemingly snaps her neck. However, there’s been much speculation as to whether Dowling is actually dead. So will she return to the show? And regardless of whether she makes a return, will the surviving character find out about her brutal murder?

Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 – does the truth about Dowling come to light?

Of course, the truth comes to light! Although, it doesn’t happen in the most caring of ways. It could be suggested that Sebestian only told Bloom that Rosalind killed Dowling to further his plan and alienate Bloom from Rosalind. And at first, it works. After Bloom asks Rosalind if she killed Dowling, Rosalind is honest about the murder. In Rosalind’s fashion, she doesn’t even come across as apologetic. But she soon regrets her choice of words as after Rosalind tries to kill Bloom, Bloom kills her in almost the same spot that she killed Dowling.

In the aftermath, Bloom gets put on trial for Rosalind’s murder. And when Bloom’s friends are unable to retrieve Dowling’s body, therefore not proving that Rosalind was a murderer, Bloom gets sentenced to 20 years in stasis. For a while, it seems that all hope is lost. However, after Terra and Flora examine a “dead-end” they found at the graveyard, it temporarily brings Dowling back to life!

Dowling and Bloom reunite. During the short encounter, Dowling reveals that as she was dying, she used magic to have nature absorb her existence. So, although she is still dead, Dowling aids Bloom in her final journey in the second season of Fate: The Winx Saga. Shortly afterward, Dowling dies and goes off into the afterlife. Whilst it was a brief reunion, it allowed the truth to reveal itself and help Bloom for the rest of the season. Quite cute, actually.

What did you think of Dowling’s return? Was it emotional or just too short for your liking?
