Before we get into the details of the eighth episode of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler, here is a recap of what happened in the seventh episode.

  • Alfie and Dave search for the prison that Zahra’s father is supposedly locked up in.
  • The pair learn from a local that there is a “prison with no walls” nearby. While Dave doesn’t believe the tale, Alfie manages to track down the mysterious prison.
  • Soon after, he finds Zahra’s father, Zeya, and tries to help him escape.
  • However, as Zahra’s father recognizes him as being the one who captured him, he questions Alfie’s motives.
  • The pair are recaptured, and Alfie nearly has his brain turned to mush.
  • Dave and Lucius save the day and rescue Alfie.
  • With Zeya free from the prison with no wall, Zahra tells Alfie that she must leave the country to keep her father safe. Therefore, Zahra kisses Alfie, and they say goodbye.

Predictions

Alfie and Sandra have said their goodbyes. And Martha is still to see Thomas after he killed his father. So, what is going to happen next in Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler? Below are just a few predictions.

  • Zahra will not return any time soon. She is the type of character that could pop up in a future season. But for now, and at least in the third season of Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler, I don’t think we’ll see any more of Zahra.
  • Thomas will have a major role in the final three episodes. The murder he committed will become more vital and could potentially shape the season finale. Will he confess to the crime, or will he attempt to cover his tracks? Personally, I predict that Thomas will struggle with the crime he has committed and eventually face up to his actions. And this will either come in him going to prison or even paying the ultimate price. Either way, I predict that by the end of the season, Martha will be on her own.
  • Bet is alive. Although the way episode 6 ended, it looked like she could have died, I feel that the lack of mention in episode 7 is leading to her return. Had she died, surely the episode would have mentioned that? Obviously, the show could easily mention her death in the next few episodes. But I find it odd that the show would leave fans out in the dark unless they are planning on bringing her back.
