We review the Netflix reality series Too Hot to Handle Season 4, which does not contain spoilers.
We have the return of one of Netflix’s best trashy reality shows with season 4 of Too Hot to Handle. So what kind of twists do they have in store for these men and women? Will everyone be able to keep it in their pants? And who will walk away with 100 thousand dollars? Let’s dive in.
Well, the narrator breaks down that EVERYONE knows about Too Hot to Handle now, so finding people to partake with authenticity has been very hard. So they decided to gather a group of people and tell them that they would be on a show called “Wild Love” and gather the contestants on a beautiful island and let them get to know each other. After spending time together on the island, Mario Lopez arrives to get in on the fun by talking about he is the host of the new show Wild Love. He plans to get them all in love fast and hard (that’s what she said).
Of course, just as the men and women are getting acquainted with what they will do, we see them get invited to their first competition leading to the big reveal. The group is on the runway, the infamous sound drops, and our contestants FREAK OUT because they know what show they are on now. Creed had my favorite reaction where he had one word to say, “bitch,” with this depressing look on his face.
One of the things I will never understand is if you would’ve put 24-year-old Ricky on this show and said, “no sex, and you can win 200 thousand dollars,” I am sorry, but that is the easiest decision I would ever make. Do you realize what 200 thousand dollars, even after taxes, could get you? Plenty of things that would be easy to find women after the show was over. Use your brain, ladies and gentleman, not your sexual desires.
The reason this show stays good for as long as it has is because of their creative ways of bringing twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Now, for the purpose of not wanting to spoil anything from the show, I won’t tell you which twists I love the most, but just know there are several that will leave your jaw on the ground. Honestly, these might be some of my favorite twists to date.
My favorite character throughout the show is James Pendergrass. When he came onto my screen and said “Vacation Penis Package,” referring to living in Hawaii, I knew he would be my favorite. He is over-the-top, funny, and has that IT factor when watching these types of reality shows. So, I look forward to hearing other people’s favorites from the show, but I suspect that James will be at the top of most people’s lists.
Overall, if you saw my review of Love is Blind, you know that I love trashy reality shows and my love for Too Hot to Handle only amplifies that love. It might be simple, ludicrous, and something that shouldn’t work, but isn’t that every reality show? So join me in our love of trashy TV shows and enjoy season 4.
