With episode 11 in the bag, there’s only one more episode of Chainsaw Man left, and things aren’t looking too great for the group right now, especially Aki (Shogo Sakata). After dealing Division 4 a devastating ambush, Denji (voiced by Kikunosuke Toya) and his friends are once again facing off against Katana Man, Akane (Yo Taichi), and their henchmen. However, the yakuza members have come to fight with more than a few surprises and tricks up their sleeves. How the group will get out of this remains to be seen.
- Despite apprehension at what sort of intense deal the Future Devil might try to make with Aki, he keeps his request quite simple. All he wants is to live in Aki’s right eye, as he has seen Aki’s future and knows that his death is “going to rule”. Aki agrees.
- Denji and Power continue to train with Kishibe. He tells them that the new Division 4 will soon go on a mission to take out Akane and Katana Man. If the mission fails, all of the devils will be disposed of.
- At dinner with Makima, Kishibe expresses an unexpected fondness for Power and Denji. He then asks her if she knew the attacks on Division 4 were coming all along and did nothing to stop them. She claims that she did not know and that they have the same interests. Although Kishibe accepts that, he does not seem to trust and believe her fully.
- Akane, Katana Man, and their henchmen hide in an office building, waiting. They have no intention of running but do have a plan in place for when Division 4 finally comes after them: the basement is filled with zombies.
- Makima meets with the Yakuza Boss in charge of Katana Man and Akane. He says they were not acting on his orders and explains that Akane got her group a deal with the gun devil, where they exchange guns and ammo for money. He agrees to write the group members’ names down for Makima but will not rat on members of other crime families. She then reveals that she has the eyes of his family members and everyone else’s. She will return them after receiving the names.
- Division 4 surrounds the building where Akane and Katana Man are. Before going in, Kishibe warns the cops about the other devils in Special Division 4. There are members they need to be prepared for, including the Shark Fiend, Violence Fiend, Spider Devil, and Angel Devil.
- Division 4 begins to take on zombies. Aki instructs his group to look for Akane and Katana Man. As he searches the building, Aki is attacked by men with guns who all seem to drop dead thanks to interference from Makima.
- Aki soon finds Akane alone, and she attacks him with the Ghost Devil. Aki attempts to fight the devil off using his new contract with the Future Devil, but the Ghost Devil still manages to get a hand around his neck. Akane commands the Ghost Devil to choke him to death.
Chainsaw Man season 1, episode 12 release date and time
Episode 12 is scheduled to release on Crunchyroll on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. ET. The title for episode 12 is unknown at this time, but it will have a run time of approximately 23 minutes.

Predictions
I was sort of right in last week’s predictions, which is a win I will gladly accept. Aki did end up contracting with the Future Devil, although it barely cost him anything, unless you count front-row tickets to his inevitable, and apparently tragic, death. Katana Man also showed up, and will likely end up being season one’s final villain. With only 1 episode remaining, let’s see if we can figure out how this crazy season is going to end!
- There’s no way Aki dies here. While getting choked to death by your old partner’s devil does seem tragic, I don’t think this is what the Future Devil gave up such an easy contract for. I think he will manage to overcome this devil and make his way to Akane, either killing or capturing her.
- We have yet to see if Denji and Power actually did learn anything from their training. I suspect we’ll get that answer next week, as they will probably be the ones to encounter Katana Man. If Kishibe is as strong as they say, this may even be an easy battle for the two of them.
- This season has been building up to finding the Gun Devil. Considering how often shows like to end on surprises or cliffhangers, I would not be surprised if he finally came out of hiding and made himself known to Division 4 or even the world.
